CLOSED FOR SELECTIONS - DEADLINE PASSED.

please log in to view this image ROUND 13 please log in to view this image ITALY THIS IS A GRAND SLAM RACE please log in to view this image

RULES Choose your driver pairing(s) before the deadline. 1. Choose a tier (your first is free) 2. Choose your '+' driver from that tier 3. Choose a '–' driver from the same tier 4. Players from round 12 who don't pick a new driver pairing or buy any add-ons will have their choices from Belgium carried over to Italy 5. The points scored by your '–' driver will be subtracted from the points scored by your '+' driver to give you your score for the race 6. If you have enough points you may use them to 'buy' a second tier (20 pts each) 6b. If you have more than enough points you may use them to 'buy' a rather smart points booster (see Add-ons thread for info)

TIERS Tier 1 Red Bull: Vettel / Webber McLaren: Button / Hamilton Lotus: Raikkonen / d'Ambrosio Tier 2 Ferrari: Alonso / Massa Mercedes: Schumacher / Rosberg Sauber: Kobayashi / Perez Tier 3 Williams: Maldonado / Senna Force India: di Resta / Hulkenberg Toro Rosso: Ricciardo / Vergne Tier 4 Caterham: Kovalainen / Petrov Marussia: Glock / Pic HRT: de la Rosa / Karthikeyan

RATHER SMART POINTS BOOSTERS please log in to view this image

CURRENT SELECTIONS (for Italian GP): please log in to view this image Black member names indicate driver pairings carried over from previous race. ✻ indicates driver pairings that will qualify for Drudeboy's Wheel-to-Wheel Battle. 'Qualifying' points allocations take post-qualifying penalties into account and are therefore based on race start positions. For example, if Massa qualifies in 4th place but receives a five place grid penalty then points will be allocated based on his race start position of 9th. There is therefore a double hit for drivers who receive a penalty resulting from a stewards inquiry. Time penalties: 2 points docked from score and potentially a lower race finish. Grid penalties: 3 points docked from score at current race and a grid drop at the following race. Done, Roads. I'm not feeling much love in the forum for d'Ambrosio. He hasn't been confirmed yet, has he? Keep an eye on that because if they use someone else you're all free to come back and change your minds before 9am Thursday. No - Friday. I meant Friday.
Kovalainen + Karthekeyan - Kers and a ferrari engine please i'll also go for Hamilton + 2nd lotus - kers Kobay + Rosberg - DRS thanks again genji, good job
That's a big outlay, Miggins - I hope it pays off. I've listed DRS against your first choice but, as you know, if it's needed I'll apply it whichever driver pairing gives you the best payback.
OK, Jules - done, thanks. Deadline Passed The deadline has now passed, which means driver selections can no longer be made unless you have a joker left to play (i.e. you're not cosicave or El_Bando). If you want to play your joker then you can still make a driver selection as long as you do so before 9 A.M. tomorrow, Saturday 7 September. New Rule The possibility of introducing a new rule to restrict driver choices to those drivers who can still win the WDC was discussed in the Belgian GP +/– thread. This would not affect people who carry over their drivers from the previous race. In my case (for those who've noticed I've retained my original driver pairing from the first race throughout the season) I would be allowed to continue with that pairing even when one or both of them is/are out of contention. If you want to choose a new free pairing, add a second or third pairing, or buy any add-ons, however, then all your drivers must be mathematically capable of winning the WDC. To implement this rule I would like everyone who has selected a new driver pairing in both the Belgian and Italian GPs to make their opinion known and if anyone votes 'nay' (or 'no' or 'niet' or 'bollocks' etc.) then we will leave the introduction of this rule until next season. Thanks for reading now please vote 'yay' or nay'.
Blast! Too late, I forgot about this when I had the chance yesterday morning. Well, I expect my lead to be drastically reduced, if not quite nullified. Both McLaren drivers or Alonso pitted against D'Ambrosio would seem the best way to go this time; and it is looking a very strong event for any with a Mercedes engine. And D'Ambrosio is so rusty that KERS would seem a bargain.
