2012 FORMULA 1 CALENDAR 18 March - Australia (Melbourne) 25 March - Malaysia (Sepang) 15 April - China (Shanghai) 22 April - Bahrain (Sakhir) 13 May - Spain (Barcelona) 27 May - Monaco (Monte Carlo) 10 June - Canada (Montreal) 24 June - Europe (Valencia) 8 July - Britain (Silverstone) 22 July - Germany (Hockenheim) 29 July - Hungary (Hungaroring) 2 September - Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps) 9 September - Italy (Monza) 23 September - Singapore (Marina Bay) 7 October - Japan (Suzuka) 14 October - Korea (Yeongam) 28 October - India (New Delhi) 4 November - Abu Dhabi (Yas Marina) 18 November - United States (Austin) 25 November - Brazil (Interlagos) Yes. Here it is after months of speculation. After all the provisional calendars coming out, I expected this to be completely different from the one we have now, but it isn't really. Turkey has been dropped sadly, Bahrain returns to 4th on the calendar instead of the very late date that was originally proposed. Korea doesn't move up to 5th but stays where it is as does India right behind it. Abu Dhabi becomes the third-last round, making way for the inaguraul Austin GP with Brazil being the season finale. 6 back-2-back races, two three-week breaks and the usual four-week summer break before Belgium.
Great loss in Turkey - fanastic track! Dont know why they have had a 3 week break between the 1st 4 fly aways - surely it would ahve made sence tp have stayed out there and then had a 3/4 week break when they came back?
It's disappointing to see one of Tilke's best circuits removed from the Calendar. Looking forward to Austin - I like how it's so close to the end of the season.
i would say to keep turkey and remove valencia, bahrain and possibly hungary? Deffo Bahrain and Valencia they never have exciting races! Same cos turkey is a good track!
I'm kinda sad that here in Down Under we have the first race of the season, because the first race is never particularly exciting as drivers and teams are trying to get used to new regs and things...oh well, there is still glory to being the season opener.
Sad to see Turkey go - one of Tilke's better tracks! Good to see Australian Grand Prix as curtain raiser and Brazilian Grand Prix kept as finale. September - October is hectic!
Glad theyre still ending the season at brazil still, its important to have a great track with good history and overtaking opportunities. Also glad to see the Indian GP is in October, it would be tyre melting hot in the summer time. A shame about Turkey, its a great track though a little bit too much run off for my liking, plus that bump before the chicaine didnt look good.
It's great returning to old ways with Australia as the opener and Brazil as the finale, as it should be.
Not sure I understand why 1 week between OZ and Malay, 3 weeks between Malay and Ch and then a week between Ch and Boreain, surely it would have been better to have the longer gap between Ch and Bore. I'm sure that the reason why we used to have the 3 week after Ch was so the lorries could get back, as not all is air freighted, although with Bernie's deal with sky he can probably airfreight it all now
No doubt there'll be more action in Mugello than at either grand prix. Sensibly (and therefore unbelievably) they've left a two week gap before Monaco, ridiculous that they had it back to back when they have to arrive there a day earlier.
It seriously wouldn't surprise me to see them release an actual calender, with a different picture each month of Bernie cutting the throat of the sport and sucking it dry!
