So chaps and chapesses....forgive me for sounding a little premature but I've been thinking ahead to next season already. Presuming (for now) that we remain in this division next season, does anyone have any thoughts on the following? Who would you like to see at the helm? Which players would you like to see depart or be brought in? Who are the players out of contract that deserve to stay? A little out there I know, but just thought I'd get the ball rolling...

Well from that list. I would offer the following: King - 1 year contract Jackman - 2 Fuller - 2 Brown - 1 Davies - 1 Evans - 2 Essam - 3 Spiller - 1 Carter - 1 Plus... Tomlin - 2 The rest can go!
I would not give up on this season just yet, but I think we do know that we will probably be in this league again as we are a bit off of the play offs now. I would start with the players who are out of contract that I would keep (Not sure if all of them are out of contract but these are the ones I would keep if they are out of contract), they are Simon King- He has come back from injury after so long out and played absolutely brilliant, he has made us stronger as a unit and after so long out I worried that he may not come back so I would defiantly keep him. Connor Essam- I believe he is out of contract, he has made a great start to his career and is showing that he is a good player for the future so he would have to have a new contract. Jack Evans- Not sure if he is out of contract, I think he is one of the best prospects we have for the future, must keep him. Callum Davies- Not sure if he is out of contract either if he is then we need to keep him as I believe he will be one for the future. Danny Jackman- Not sure if he is out of contract, if he is, it is a no brainer, keep, brilliant player and really done well this season, much improved. Danny Spiller- If he is out of contract I think I would keep him, he is a team player and is good when he is not injured, he had a good spell in the team before the injuries so he is a good player to have, also he does get a few goals. Dennis Oli- I would let him go, no doubt about it, he may have played a few lately but I have not changed my mind on him. Curtis Weston- I think we should let him go, he does not work hard enough, only had one good spell this season, a shame as he was a good player. Jo Kuffour- Not sure if I would keep him yet or if he would stay as he might only want to stay if we go up, I think as it stands I would let him go as he is probably one the high earners and he don't work hard enough, he was good while on loan but once he is settled in, he don't work hard. Now here is a few tough ones Barry Fuller- I believe he is out of contract, he was a proper team player and worked hard, but he has been out for a long time, he should be back in time for next season if we were to keep him, I personally don't think I would rush in with a new contract in-case he don't come back strong enough, it would be a short term contract if it was up to me either Month to Month, play to pay deal or 6 months to a maximum of a 1 year contract. Garry Richards- Not sure if he is out of contract but if he is I would want to keep him, not 100% sure yet, but I think I would keep him, my only problem is how long would he be out and also that he can sometimes get a few injuries in the past and I worry if the injuries are back, he is a good player and was one of the best players this season upto getting injured and before he was injured he was our best defender excluding Jackman and Charlie Lee. So that sums up the players out of contract, not sure if Ashley Miller is out of contract if he is we need to get him tied down as he is worth a bit and if he is not out of contract then I would give a new contract 3 years or something like that. Now it is down to the players I would like to see us sign and I would like to start with the player I think everyone wants and if you don't know who that is then that is Tomlin, he need to sign him, he is from the area, he is a great player who works so hard, is fast and scores many goals. Ollie Lee- I am not sure yet, it seems he has got something there, he is still young, I think he is better than Montrose and I have faith that he has a good future so I think I keep looking at him and maybe sign him. I also forgot to mention of course I would let Matt Lawrence go, not really worth mentioning him as we know he is going. Now the players who are not out of contract which need to go are as followed Frampton- He may be the captain but he is too slow and I am worried for the team when he plays as he is not a very good decision maker, he may be a good spokesman but I don't think he is good enough. Fish- I don't think he is good enough, I may be wrong on this but he has only really played well for us once and that was against Cheltenham, he is not good as a defender. Montrose- He is not the player I thought he was and now I can see why Wycombe let him go, however I think he was better for them last season, his passing is absolutely shocking and he is not good holding the ball, he is tall and you would expect him to be strong but then you would be wrong, he would be out if it was upto me. Now who would I like at the helm, for me Andy Hessenthaler, he deserves one more season if it is upto me, no excuse this time round. I think we would need to bring in a few new players for the next season, a new striker to replace Kuffour, a new centre back who is good, around 24-27 from a football league club, a new midfielder and also a new right back if we did not keep Fuller.
I would keep Gazzaniga...unless Argentina invades the Falklands again.....In which case I would still keep him.
I would try and give him a new contract if he would like one, I would give him a 5 year extension, he is a great player and could be our future, however it won't happen he is going to move onto bigger things in the future.
Weston and Oli I think should go and Lawrence would be worth keeping to help out the likes of Essam, Davies and Evans. Who stays and who goes will largely depend on where we finish and if there was a change in manager during the close season.
King Weston Jackman Fuller Richards Davies Evans Hawkes (do we still need himor can we get a better 3rd choice, old guy maybe to help coach them through) Essam Spiller Kuffour offer these guys new contracts on varrying lengths and amounts. if were gonna make a push next year in either league we need to keep the nuclus of this squad together, too much turmoil over the last few years has caused us to have poor starts (ala last season) and dips in form when we pick up a few injuries as people learn to play together. then i would like us to go into the market for 1 or 2 cb, a lb (maybe lb/rb if poss) and then sign tomlin and maybe another pacy winger if there is one out there simples!!
