Rather early, given that the start of the new season is nearly 3 months away, but what are your early predictions for promotion and relegation? Who will finish in the top-six? How will the new teams in the division fare? After the not-so-mighty Huddersfield Town scraped their way into the Championship yesterday with a penalty win over the abysmal Ched-less Chickens of Sheffield United, the final line-up looks like this: 1. Barnsley 2. Birmingham City 3. Blackburn Rovers 4. Blackpool 5. Bolton Wanderers 6. Brighton and Hove Albion 7. Bristol City 8. Burnley 9. Cardiff City 10. Charlton Athletic 11. Crystal Palace 12. Derby County 13. Huddersfield Town 14. Hull City 15. Ipswich Town 16. Leeds United 17. Leicester City 18. Middlesbrough 19. Millwall 20. Nottingham Forest 21. Peterborough United 22. Sheffield Wednesday 23. Watford 24. Wolverhampton Wanderers I say: Promoted - Birmingham City; Bolton Wanderers; and Sheffield Wednesday (P/O Winners) Relegated - Peterborough United; Charlton Athletic; and Millwall
I'm going for: Promoted: Wolverhampton Wanderers Birmingham City Blackpool Relegated: Bristol City Huddersfield Town Millwall
Birmingham City Wolves -------- Leicester City Bolton W Sheffield W Blackpool ======= Barnsley Watford Millwall
1. Wolves. 2. Bolton. 3. Birmingham 4. Leicester 5. Blackpool. 6. Sheff wed. 22. Hull City. 23. p'boro. 24. Huddersfield
Why Sheffield Wednesday, the're not going to get consecutive promotion, come on what are the chances of that happening 3 times in a row
The last few times sheff wed have gone back up to the championship they have just struggled again and i see the same happening again to be honest, i dont think they will be anywhere near the play offs, charlton have a much better chance. 1. Wolves 2. Leicester 3. Bolton 4. Birmingham 5. Blackpool 6. Burnley 22. Millwall 23. Barnsley 24. Peterborough
I think Burnley will struggle, when they sell Rodriguez most of the money will be used to pay off debts so they won't be able to replace him with superior class
Are they in a bit of financial trouble? I didnt know. I just thought they were slightly unlucky this season, they had a lot of injuries to key players and thought if they could keep their main players then they would be an outside bet of the play offs!
When we have no manager and no idea what the procurement budget will be, added to the fact we finished 8th last time out, just what is your reason for thinking we will be relegated? Actually, the reason is your a negative, moaning miserable git, but I'd be interested to see how your non-logic works.
I don't see Wolves anywhere near the top 2. Loads of players likely to leave, new manager new to the Championship. I'd say play offs at best. Charlton, based on the achievements of Norwich and Southampton over the last 2 seasons will be nowhere near the relegation places.
I haven't a clue who will be promoted next season because nobody has started refreshing their squads yet. However I think that is one of the strongest looking Championships there has been for an awful long time with some very big clubs. I don't see it being less competitive than last year at either end of the table and unless we manage to appoint someone who has a blinding first season in charge I think we will do well to finish as high as we did last season
was going to say... no one see's us finishing in the top 6 then ? we only just missed out last season due to a few really bad runs under barmby. a good manager and some new signings and everyone will be positive again... hopefully...
Promoted automatically - Bolton & Birmingham Play Offs - Wolves, Cardiff, Charlton & Blackpool - Winners = Cardiff Hull to finish 7th Relegated - Millwall, Sheff Wed & Barnsley
