Sorry to hear of your sad event John

I tipped Huddersfield for a bottom 3 finish when they got promoted but I think they'll survive if they hang on to Rhodes.

It's going to be a division where we can expect to see some unexpected results with so many big name teams playing each other week in week out.

There were surprise defeats for Leeds and Leicester last night, and these sort of events means that its going to be a very very tight league.

    Surprise strugglers could be Derby

I fancy Peterborough & Barnsley to be at the bottom but everyone else has a fighting chance. This is such a good division where anyone can beat anyone. I still think we need cover at the rear but am thinking that scoring goals will be somewhat better than last year.

Not had a bet this year, after last seasons success dont think lightening will strike twice.

As mentioned in a previous mail, for the first time in 4 years we seem to have a very fair fixture list...not going to say hard easy hard easy as all games are difficult But our next 6 games are A H A A H H then a cruncher against Leics to bring up 10 games and be looking at 16-19 pts gained. We could find a real demon in Leics...already lost 2 and by then they will hopefully be hoping to be in the top 6-8!

Barnsley are languishing at the moment SO we need to be careful, they showed last year out of the blue they win a couple games they should have had no chance with! THATS WHAT KEPT THEM UP.

SO WHATS YOUR TOP 8 and your BOTTOM 8.....................DONT BE SHY !!!

poor old POSH, NOW EQUAL with Sheff Wed of 6 straight losses in the Championship ( 2007/8) and this weekend they face Wolves " another poor team" one place above us and 16 above them. will they establish a

NEW CHAMPIONSHIP RECORD OF 7 STRAIGHT LOSSES TO START THE SEASON....would help us if they didnt!

I think Peterborough are the one and only team living up to their tag as pre season relegation favourites.

The rest of the division, aside from Blackburn, is so tight its scary. A couple of bad results could see any well placed team in the bottom 3, not that it matters too much at this stage of the season but that's how tight the table is. Even more reason why we should look to take full advantage of an out of sorts Watford at the weekend.

Angelic.spot on WE MUST in past seasons we have had the wrong teams at the wrong moments interesting to see what the Posh v Wolves result is!
10 games is a good yardstick. Runs of up to 10 games are quite common, like not winning or not losing. Second 10 games are usually more informative as teams have settled and the worry or anticipation factor sets in.
From the next 12 pts, 5pts is a must

John - Too true. We are 4 points from 23rd place....

On the plus side we're only 5 points from the top of the league too. As opposed to being in League Two !!

A win a Watford would be nice tomorrow, or even a point

I would have thought you guys would be a bit more optimistic than the above comments. We know even-stevens is relegation form and who the devil wants another dose of the squitters all season! Surely the aim should be for at least the playoffs. For that City will need 1.5 points per game; a target of around 50 points. So at the moment City are two points down.

We are way off the play off's at the moment, we need a commanding centre half possibly two, a left back and a dominant creative CM. MId table will be an achievement this season.

LPA... YOUR QUOTE states the fact that its not points we currently need but the team to get them! have the right team and the points will look after themselves
