Carlos was my favorite, raw and exciting player but thanks to injury never got a proper crack at the Prem. But Summerbee was next level. Technique wise, quality of the pass and the delivery was far beyond any of the other RW listed during their time with us imo. Summerbee for me, best player imo
I remember hearing a stat at the time that he was playing for us that Summerbee had a better cross to goal ratio than David Beckham.
This is why I said that it was a pity about Jordan Hendo not getting many votes . . . . David Beckham used to be good (not very good . . . . just good) at crossing into targeted areas, whereas Micky's boy used to pick players out with amazing accuracy. He looked like a lazy player at times, like Chris Waddle used to look knackered, but his inevitable inclusion in this poll renders it almost pointless
Hendo was only partially developed with us. He wasn't close to a wining vote if he'd been entered in to every single one of these polls imo
Nicky Summerbee all day long. I remember being out drinking in Durham and him, Johnston and a couple of others were out. He walked up to a lass in one of those revealing tops (hardly any material and two tied bits of cord holding it on(0) and he just ripped it off her! No Twitter or YouTube then. She had cracking norks as well! He wins my vote also cos he was a decent footballer too!!
Summerbee for me....nothing better than seeing a winger take someone on the outside and ping a good cross in......
I was in two minds whether to pick Summerbee or Carlos! I went with Carlos in the end for that goal against Burnley was one of the best at SoL. I did love Summerbee and as many have said that his crossing was second to none.
