League table back then, Saints were 3rd from bottom with only Orient & Dagenham beneath us. We had won 1 game out of our first 7, losing 4 of them and scoring only 5 goals. What an amazing run since then under Nigel Adkins.
We all got on the bus and didn't stop for anyone........just a few gentle prangs on the way. On Saturday the bus gets to it's station where we can all get off.....take a pee......have few bevies to replace the pee we just got rid of, and congratulate the lads. Leaving the bus to be cleaned up and fueled ready to get back on next season.
It was a bleak start but it did not take long for Adkins to turn it around. I was always confident we'd finish top six but there were times I doubted we would make the top two (particularly after the dreadful 0-2 defeat at home to Brentford)
