What do other season ticket holders think about the 20 extra points being awarded to supporters who attended 10 or more away games last season, personality i think its unfair. I attended 8 last season so i miss out, 2 so far this season but this idea still seems to have pushed me down the pecking order
I dont have a problem with it personally. I think for the early parts of the season those who have gone up and down the country consistently the previous season should be allowed first dibs on them especially considering they could miss out to those who just buy the 30 extra loyalty points so they can get to the big club away matches (not that there's anything wrong with that persay but I think those who've gone to the likes of Wigan deserve to have first dibs)
I qualify as I only missed a handful of away games last season, but I have enough points to qualify for the first on sale group anyway so it doesnt really benefit me anyway. But I think it is fair. Those who went to the most games last season should be given first choice imo - and I would be saying that even if I didnt qualify for the first points on sale group.
Someone will always miss out whatever the club do but it was necessary to give an advantage to the most loyal (cue endless debate about what equates to a loyal supporter) for the Spurs and Arsenal games particularly. Which reminds me that I need to get my Arsenal ticket.
Its fair as is giving renewals some bonus points. I struggle to get to early away games as a STH, it then because a catch 22 situation as you cant get more points without going to away games and you cant go to away games without getting more points. I assume it should be easier to get to away games this season.
This has to be fair. It rewards those who are able to go regularly. Is the point of a loyalty system...
But on the other hand, how can you start going if you are unable to go regularly because its sold out before you can get a ticket? I travel at least 2 hours each way to get to home games, I think we should get extra point over those who go 2 stops on the tube.
Having gone to Wigan away last season I would need 300 loyalty points to make up for the disaster that day was!! Overall a fair policy tbh.Whatever limit / rule the club decide upon it can never please everyone. Get creative to get those tickets!! My new 'club insider' sorted me out Citeh away tickets.
I've had season tickets and memberships for a good few years in a row now. This year I didn't get any of that because I am going away for a while this year. And what do I start with this year? 0 points? What does loyalty mean? Someone please define it. I've got a few now from buying the cup game tickets but not enough for any good use.
From the clubs POV it's probably:
Ah, ah! So how many extras should we get if we live in Norway, Finland, Turkey, US, Oz, Kiwiland etc etc ?!!
If you have a ST, they should offer you 1st choice to any game! Im going to have a spare seat for about 8-10 games this season and I will offer it on here to the foreign fans but obviously ginger leprechauns are excluded!
How often do our games not make general sale? You'll have no problem building up points if you really want to go. In an ideal world you would have loyalty points for being at Carlisle away on a Tuesday night in the LDV Vans trophy when there was a train strike and it snowed but the club has to put a practical system in place and it has done. If you live up north or in Ireland or Timbuktu or had to give up your season ticket because you lost your job or started a family or whatever and can't get a ticket for Chelsea away then it's unfortunate but what can the club really do?
I think it is a fair policy, but, I believe the policy of loyalty points needs looking into. There should be a higher stock value in attending games further away, than attending the London derbies.
They do or last least they did last year. Only cup games have points not in fitting with their difficulty to get to.
You do get more for the further away games. Five for West Brom, one for Arsenal etc. Eight for Reading in the cup seems a bit steep, as was however many it was for the Wycombe friendly, but then none for going to Augsburg... But it's as good a system as we can realistically have.
