Who'd have thought it, going back to the transfer request and name calling shenanigans last January. Amazing what being deployed in the right position - rather than frozen out because he was too 'tricky' and not enough of a workhorse grafter can do for a person's sense of worth and desire to play / win http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...olfswinkel_prepares_to_wave_goodbye_1_3713445 (Yes, Mr physical attributes and strength alone demander, we all know who you bloody well are. Or rather were P.S. If he starts putting in the type of shift we all know he's capable of, certainly in this division, will you forgive him, carrabuh?)
To be expected now we are in the championship. If he is now committed to the cause he will be an asset this season. Should we be promoted though he may not feature next season.
that's a turn up for the books! he really was very unhappy at the club so well done neil adams for turning the situation around so quickly. i can't see a downside to this. it would cost us a lot to replace him but keeping him on board at championship level means that it isn't quite as urgent to find a replacement now. he does still need to be replaced though - he's not getting any younger!
I doubt it. Never had an issue with his performances, or wanting to leave, just his attitude to the club.
Yes, it is great to hear that Wes looks like signing a new 2 year contract and with him so fully committed in the pre-season, it does feel like signing a new player, especially in the ACM role that we've been calling for. For those wondering about Adam's 'man-management skills', this seems to be a pretty good indicator. I'll settle for getting promoted this year, GE, next year can come later!
playing football is the sole factor here. he wanted to leave to play football - now he's getting it here. there was no masterstroke, just picking him and i assume giving him assurances that he will continue to be important to the team.
Always he´s been a favourite of mine But not everyone´s cup of tea, So an extension to his contract suits me fine If the best of Wesley we can see, Adams has obviously made it quite clear The part that he wants him to play, And we know on his day he´s a match winner here So worth just a minor ´hooray´.
He did blot his copy book though RBF with all that nonsense. Yes I appreciate there was frustration with the then manager and accept that argument, but to say what he said about the club was an absolute disgrace and to me pretty unforgivable. I hope he proves me wrong with some stand out performances and then the passing of time will erode the tantrum.
Totally agree THURNBY, and he lost a few friends over it, I´m sure - hence lines 2 and 8 - but the fact that he was man enough to come with a public apology very quickly, did him credit imo. Anyway, I dare say we´ve all said things that we rather wished we hadn´t, on hindsight - prefer him to be playing for us than against us any day.
At least he didn't drive to Villa Park on the assumption that the deal was done. So he's not quite as bad as Peter Odemwingie Many players - sportsmen in general do or say things they regret and wish they hadn't in the heat of the moment. But it doesn't have to be an albatross they carry round their neck for the rest of their career.
I'm going to put my head on the block, I think we will see the best ever season in yellow from Wes this season!
It was pre planned and as I said, he never apologised for doing it. No issues with him wanting to leave as it was completely understandable.
I hope he plays in the first home game, can't wait to boo him when his name gets called out, I still can't believe he didn't do a triple back-flip after his goal against Villa, the man disgusts me.
I'm glad you have come round Munky. Although you should be careful what you write. Some people are are so affected by such things they become obsessed with them. A bit like a pet.
Good to see Adams and the Club getting contracts sorted out now that pre-season is over. Bennett has also signed a new contract. Turner, Martin, Tettey, Surman and Rudd to follow?
