Hi all, Newcastle fan here. Congratulations on your win today, good performance and great result!

I know its 2 weeks away, but I am excited for the game already :) haha. Wish the internationals would feck off! lol

Just wondered how you see it going and who, if anyone do you fear from our side.

Your side oozes class imo. Class, experience pro in Friedel. Great fullbacks, solid centre backs. Great battling and creativity, pace goals in midfield and goals up front.

I have a feeling it might be a draw myself - you lot don't usually travel too well down here. Would be amazing for us too win though! ;)

Your form recently has been terrific - well deserved manager of the month for Harry too!

Usually a fantastic game between us to and heres to another one!!

  2. We're the best side you'll have come up against so far this season, and we'll beat you quite easily. The only half-decent side you've come up against so far is Villa, and you could only manage a draw against them.

    I reckon it'll be 0-3.

No offence, pal, but we are in quite a different league to you. Not that I think you'll do badly this season, but I can't see you finishing inside the top 7.

We played Villa off the park and would have won if it wasn't for Shay (best keeper in the Prem)

I am shocked that you are so confident of a win here - wasn't the last league win here when that left back (can't remember his name) scored that peach when Sir Bobby was in charge of us?

I honestly think we will get something. Agree that you are in a different league and I know we won't be up there this season - we will be between 7th and 10th imo. You will get top 4 no doubt!

We have some class players you know! Ben Arfa and Santon never even came off the bench - they are two potentially world class players. Tiote and Cabaye in the centre are very hard working and have a lot of class! Taylor-Coloccini is a rock of a partnership and Krul in goal won't let you score 3 ;) haha. I think it will be 1-1 with 2 good quality attacking sides. You are a threat no doubt about it and you might be right with your prediction but we shall see

If you play like you did in the 1st half against Wolves you have a good chance of a result. On the otherhand if you play like you did in the 2nd half Spurs will win.Anyway here's looking forward to a good game(2weeks long time).

Yeah, would you say we are your bogey team? lol. We usually do quite well against you.

Obviously you are a big threat this year and will be a good test. Will show us how far we have come from last season if we can get something positive!

Recently you have struggled against us.

Why being such a ****? I posted a positive post about the game. Praised your team

  9. I may have been a trifle flippant with my initial reply.

The truth is, as every Spurs fan knows, we always have a difficult trip to your ground. However, I doubt that you Toon lads are under any illusions that you've had an unexpectedly cracking start. If you beat us, then you are really cooking, given the way we have gelled with our new signings, and with the players that we have returning to fitness. We've got to feel confident with the way we've been playing, beating teams away from home that, not so long ago we would have struggled to finish off, and beating the likes of LFC and Arsenal. That's top 4 form, if ever I've seen it, and - trust me! - I've been a Spurs fan for a long time, and this is the best I've ever seen us play, even when we did finish 4th.

That having been said, I am neither so foolish nor so arrogant to write you off. You always provide a cracking atmosphere, and you always seem to lift your game against us. We are going to have to be at our very best if we are to take points off you on your own turf.

    Good second post ;) lol

Yeah, you are a top team! No doubt about it.

I have a couple of Spurs fans as mates and they are pretty pleased with how things are going! Unlike Arsenal :p haha

As I say - we have a couple of gems in Santon and Ben Arfa who I can't wait to see play regular games. Just hope Ben Arfa at least gets a run out against you - way better than Obertan lol

The great thing about stupid people making stupid comments like these is that it's all there to bite them in the arse if it all goes wrong.

Tottenham are a very good team, but it's never as simple as the better teams always beating the teams which aren't as good. We've beaten top 6 teams before and if we put in 100% we can match any team in-terms of performance, just like most other teams in the EPL can on the day. If that wasn't the case, then there wouldn't be much point in the Premier League as a competition.

Claiming that victory is so easy (especially when you're away at SJP) is frankly a stupid comment. I'd never say that about a match even if we were facing relegation fodder.

You would call your first comment 'a trifle flippant'?

Your second post was a fair appraisal. Your first post, on the other hand, completely wrote us off in a very arrogant fashion.

In fact, your second post sounded like it came from a completely different person, and it was completely different from the "we will beat you easily" comment in your first post, so I find that awfully peculiar.

You're obviously in very good form and your players will be confident about facing any opposition.
You've got goals in you and you appear to be playing without fear, which is always dangerous.
    It'll be a tough test.

The biggest problem that you might have is that you play a 4-4-2.
If you stick with that and we do too, then you might struggle to deal with our midfield, which would lead to Adebayor and Defoe getting plenty of chances.
Liverpool tried to match us up and they got blown away.

It should be a great game anyway, as both sides are committed to attacking and both sets of fans should be well up for it.
    Good luck.

No debate here from me. All I'm saying is that considering the history of results between Spurs and Newcastle, and considering that it's an away game for them while we're doing very well at home this season, and considering that we're playing well enough to be doing this well so far, no one should be writing this match off with any result.

Spurs fans will find it possible to pick up some points, and Newcastle will find it possible to pick up some points, so providing either of the teams don't have a bad day at the office, it should be very head-to-head stuff.

I'm hoping we'll play 4-4-1-1 with Ben Arfa in there. If we do, then Ben Arfa, Tiote and Cabaye should match up very well against the likes of VDV and Modric. Spurs arguably have their greatest strength in midfield, but so do we, so that's likely to be where the battle takes place.

Even if we do play 4-4-2, Ba tends to drop deep to help out the midfield, so we'll end up swapping between 4-4-2 and 4-4-1-1 throughout the game to suit the situation.

My major worry really is your two wingers up against Simpson and Ryan Taylor. Our weakest positions (despite having the best defence in the league so far this season) are our full backs. I'll have to just keep my fingers crossed that Santon makes an appearance.

Hopefully Lennon will be back up to speed for that game.
He's been out for a while and only managed 45 minutes against Shamrock Rovers, but he'd be handy to have on the bench.
