You will find that a lot of these teams have one of the strikers playing just a little deeper to link up with the midfield. In our side, Ba tends to do that too. So whilst it's 4-4-2 on paper, in reality it fluctuates between 4-4-2 and 4-4-1-1 as and when is needed. I'm hoping that Newcastle eventually move into a 4-4-1-1 with Ben Arfa as it should be a far more threatening attack force with him there. I guess it all comes down to adjusting the formation to player strengths. If a team doesn't have a player good enough to change the formation to fit him in, then it's better sticking to the 4-4-2.
Two strikers? Sorry mate you can't play for a draw using two strikers. I agree with Mitch about corners why oh why everyone back? If we have two up field the oppos have to have defenders up there to cover them. Even when Ming gets the ball he counts to 4 and hoofs the ball up to the oppos and they come running back at us whilst we are still trying to get up field.
What I truly can't understand is who we play up front in our next game.. Bendtner ineligible and Ji and wickham have 0 starts between them. Well done Steve. No really, well done

We are playing two up top, with Sess supposed to be off Bendtner, however it's so ineffectual it looks like we are playing with nowt up top!
