They currently have fifteen points from eleven matches, with four wins, three draws and four losses coming from the opening few months of the season. QPR’s lacklustre start to the campaign is mostly down to the lack of goals coming from the attacking front. The Loftus Road side have scored 14 goals this season, that is on average only 1.2 goals a game. Tjaronn Chery is their top goal-scorer having hit the net on four occasions, while German Sebastian Polter is the highest-scoring striker at QPR with just three goals. If they want to challenge the top-six, then they will definitely need to sign one or two new strikers in January. Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Ryan White identifies TWO strikers that QPR should secure a deal for in January… Matty Taylor please log in to view this image Matty Taylor is no stranger to being linked with numerous Championship clubs. The 26-year-old joined League One outfit Bristol Rovers in 2014 after the Gas suffered relegation to the Conference. In his first season at the Memorial Stadium, Taylor scored 20 goals and that trend continued, having helped guide Bristol Rovers back to the Football League. Darrell Clarke’s team got promoted again, mainly to the performances of Taylor, who netted 28 goals last season from 50 games. The striker signed a new contract during the summer and hasn’t struggled to find his feet in League One – he already has seven goals so far this campaign and continues to impress. If QPR want goals, then I think Taylor could be a target very likely to arrive at Loftus Road. Despite playing a division below, he has shown he can adapt to any league, having done it for the last two years. Whether he may struggle because he would be joining mid-season remains to be seen, but he could still do a job for Queens Park Rangers to solve their goal-scoring problems up front. Jonathan Leko please log in to view this image The 17-year-old has been with Premier League side West Bromwich Albion since the age of 11. Leko burst onto the scene early last season, when he made his debut the Baggies in a League Cup defeat to Norwich City. Leko’s Premier League debut came towards the end of the 2015/16 campaign, coming on as a substitute for Saido Berahino at the age of just 16. The youngster put pen-to-paper on his long-term future by signing his first professional contract at West Brom, which expires in the summer of 2019. The striker is yet to score a goal in senior football in his nine appearances under manager Tony Pulis, but has made a few assists to set up forward Salomon Rondon. Leko has 25 caps at different England youth levels, and is currently in and amongst the Under-18 national team. A loan spell away from The Hawthorns may be good for Leko. It would enable him to see the world of football in a different light, which is a great experience for any youngster. A club like Queens Park Rangers could probably do with a player of his age who is just hungry to get minutes and will put in 100% effort on the pitch, something I feel the R’s are currently lacking
I would prefer to see us look at a premier striker that cannot get into his clubs first team. maybe a loan rather than purchase as prices seem too high.
WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH YOU COULD GIVE JIMMY FLOYDE THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE DIVISION AND HE WOULD STILL LOSE EVERY GAME FOOTBALL HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT PLAYERS ITS ALL ABOUT MANAGEMENT WE SHOULD HAVE APPOINTED BOTH HOLLOWAY AND WARNOCK AS A DOUBLE ACT MANAGEMENT TEAM SACK RAMSEY SINTON JIMMY FLOYDE AND FERDINAND WE NEED A NEW REGIME LETS SIGN HOLLOWAY BEFORE BRENTFORD SIGN HIM
Pointless getting more strikers in if we are only playing one up front. As many have already said, play two up front and start attacking. Until then, we will float aimlessly.
No, l refuse to take any money supporting my favourite team but a donation for the 'Aussie Retirement Fund is in full swing. Phone 1800AUSSIE-RETIRE-NOW
When I went on Twitter on Sat/Sun it was the same story but for Reading! Just a regurgitated b@@@@@@@s could be for any team just change the name.
Just as long as we don't bring in an overpaid spoilt brat with this kind of work ethic:- Didier Drogba: Ex-Chelsea striker 'refused to play for Montreal Impact' please log in to view this image Didier Drogba (right) joined Montreal after leaving Chelsea in July 2015 Didier Drogba refused to play for Montreal Impact after being told he would not be starting against Toronto, according to coach Mauro Biello. The ex-Chelsea striker, 38, was absent from the Saputo Stadium where the Impact claimed a 2-2 draw to seal a Major League Soccer play-off spot. Montreal had earlier said he had a back injury to explain his omission. But Biello said: "He didn't accept that he would come off the bench and, in the end, he didn't want to be in the 18." The coach added: "There was tightness in his back, yes, but he was capable of playing. The organisation will have to handle this." Drogba, who left Chelsea in July 2015, has been used as a substitute in two of the Impact's past four games. He has scored 10 goals in 21 appearances this season. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37675606 Meanwhile in MLS play, Bradley Wright-Phillips playing for NY Red Bulls keeps banging the goals in - 74 in 123 appearances. Not that he would want to move from NY, but I wonder how he would fare playing in the Championship? http://www.newyorkredbulls.com/post/2016/09/23/watch-bradley-wright-phillips-goal-scoring-arsenal Big bro SWP comes up for an occasional sub appearance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_Wright-Phillips
Well I see Matty Taylor scored a hat-trick for that other Bristol team in a 3-3 draw at MK Dons, including late 87' & 88' min goals. Perhaps he could do this for us in January?
Two more goals for Dwight Gayle at Barnsley tonight - 11 goals so far this season. I thought he would be good signing for Newcastle - too bad we can't afford a striker of his class. please log in to view this image New: Barnsley 0-2 Newcastle United Newcastle go top of the Championship as Dwight Gayle's two goals earn them victory over Barnsley at Oakwell.
