Its all a bit doom and gloom regards our transfer policy at the minute and I was thinking if we did sign a striker, (Erdinc possibly), and a defender I would then regard that as a positive summer and look forward to the season just wondered what everyone thought?

I'd agree, a striker (Erdinc or Defoe would be my picks) and a new LB if we manage to sell Enrique.

Someone posted an article from L'Equipe (Hopefully spelt that right!) the other day saying he didn't want to come. Plus he's stated he wants to fight for his place at PSG, so I find it highly unlikely he'll come. I'm not willing to cut off my penis though if he comes.

PSG want him to go though and have accepted 3 offers, surely he can see he wont get games there.

If he wants to stay as much as he makes out he'll reject the moves.

I'd be happy with just the first three, very happy with all 4. <ok>

I know I'm a bit down as I was actually excited about a summer spending spree. Looks likely a selling spree.

I am please with what we have but we need 2 world class striker that's all! Is is too much to ask?

Two world class strikers IS too much to ask! Don't forget, no matter what our aspirations may be we are a mid-table club at best as it stands. We have the potential to push for Europe this coming season but the same applies to at least half a dozen other clubs around us. World class strikers don't choose to join clubs not competing at the top, Spurs have struggled to attract world class players so what makes you think we can?

We made a big profit in january but we also have a wage cap so we can't 'do a Man City' and seduce players with moolah. We've strengthened slightly and reduced the average age of our squad and are probably one striker away from being able to push on. The remaining money, yes, may go back to repaying some of MA's loan but like him or hate him he's entitiled, he's a businessman owed money by the club. If reports are correct and money is being spent to improve facilities and the academy then I'm chuffed to bits we're not blowing it on a marque signing.

There is plenty of speculation but the only key player sold so far is Nolan and that was to a non-rival, for a good fee and with a replacement already lined up (Cabaye).

Chin up, there's still plenty of time and we're not in as bad a position as it may seem. Just imagine being an Everton fan. <ok>

If we get Long + a LB to cover Jose then I'll be happy that the squad we have can finish top 10. If Jose goes we need 2 LB's, if Joey goes we need a winger. But I don't think either will happen this summer so just Long and a LB for now.

Messi and Ronaldo are coming after Pardew convinced MA to go on a diet, so the subsequent money will be spent on those two.

In other news Greggs has gone into liquidation.

Joey Barton will not leave. Neil Taylor will stay at Swansea. Newcastle will not sign Bassong.

All of these three are common knowledge to pretty much anyone?

My sources are just about any football website you can find <ok>
