http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sco...en-in-a-rown-all-I-dream-of-is-winning-3.html Realistically, what can Celtic achieve? Rangers (or Sevco if you prefer) will be back in the top Division within 2 (possibly 3) seasons... In my opinion, It will take Rangers (or Sevco if that suits you better) possibly 2/3 seasons to build a title challenging squad. In this time, will another team take a step up and be proper challengers? Only Rangers: 7 or 8 titles as a minimum? So, will we see another 9 in a row? 10? More? A N Other: 5/6?
Celtic have it sewn up forever more. The more we win, the more the stranglehold will tighten. Lawwell ensured that this year by the faux altruistic gesture of giving up the lions share of tv money. The top two teams took the big bucks. The next ten got **** all. Now the split in money is more even nobody can rely on having more money consistently than everyone else to secure 2nd and build a challenge from there. We have given from a position of strength. A brilliant move truth be told. Lawwell is still a **** though. We could probably afford a couple of European catastrophes and still be miles ahead. Sevco might finish second some years if they make it that far but they'll never ever threaten us. That maybe sounds arrogant but there isn't a lot of point in false modesty about analysing the situation. I hope we do win every year but I do hope for a challenge.
RB's not far off of what I think. In fact, I'll go as far as to say I believe 'Sevco' will go into administration and we'll see a #3 of Hundom at some point. Celtic will be dominant for 10+ years in Scottish football. IMO.
I hoped Rangers never reincarnated and we became a smaller club losing all the fannies that attach themselves to us just for the bigotry and the other nonsense. Then the other clubs could become realistic challangers to Celtic but some fanny didn't allow Rangers to die properly and condemmed Scottish football in the process. No Rangers in any shape would have been the best thing to ever happen to Scottish football. I have no idea how long things will be like this but I hope its not 10 years of running away with the league.
I've always been in favour of staying in Scottish football but sadly I now think we need to look at every option available to get out of here. Scottish fitba is ****ed. The gulf between us and the rest is enormous and only going to stay that way or get wider if we even get a modicum of European success every season. No doubt Motherwell, Hibs and ICT willl be blootered out the European Diddy cup in the 1st or 2nd rounds and it'll be left to us to qualify for the CL again. Next season will be the same as this one: a series of uninspiring performances and just doing enough to win domestic games and wrap up the tile with 12 to 15 points to spare. God only knows how pish next season will be if we fail to qualify for the CL or even the EL.
Without wishing to seem too offensive, that sounds like a Hun in 1997. You never know. I was singing 10 in a row with everyone else on Saturday but who's to say a team that've bonded coming up the lower leagues won't be in a pretty good shape with a couple of signings? I know that's unlikely but a Hun in 1997 would never have foresaw Celtic winning a treble in 4 years time and getting to a European final 6 years from then. Who's to say in 6 years time, we won't be looking back and going "aaaah, Celtic thought they had it sewn up for decades"?
Listen to Brad Pitt here. The midwife should have down the world a favour and flushed you down the toilet.
Aye nae bother cock gobbler. Away back to yer vegetable patch and ram a willy shaped object up yer dunger
Sevco won't be challenging us for a long LONG time. The next team to win the league outwith us might not even be them. Their most successful period (9IAR) was bought with Murray's millions. These millions ensured them a stranglehold in Scotland but embarassment year after year in Europe. Those days are gone, they won't be able to buy trophies anymore. Recently, they won 3IAR by allowing Smith to spend millions whilst the club was on it's knees financially whilst Celtic spent within their means. They signed Jelavic with £4m they didn't have, then sold him on without having paid for him. They won't be at a level to even attempt that whenever they reach the SPL again. All that's left is delusions of grandeur. Lets see how much success that gets them.
