IMO, Meyler only played due to Quinns injury. Hopefully Quinn will be back fresh for tuesday and at least Meyler only misses 2 home games. We have enough cover for him to cope especially at home with the Tiger Nation behind us again. My team for Watford would be (fitness being ok) Stockdale Chester Faye Hobbs Elmohamady Koren Quinn* Brady Boyd in the hole Simpson Gedo *if not fit, then one from Bruce - Fathi - Evans.
Meyler provided a bit of mettle in there, he's the only be willing to throw an elbow, hit someone late etc albeit the soft tart does fall over a bit himself. The worry is who he plays in there instead a- perhaps now it's time for the worlds greatest centre midfielder (if you believe the hype) fathi boom boom to get a go?
Midfield of Koren Evans and Cairney Tuesday please! Its not going to be physical Tuesday so no need for Bruce. If quinns fit then he comes in for Cairney
I agree with Gooch though Watford are a team who like to pass it around we don't need physicality we need energy and someone to get box to box. So Koren has to place if Quinn doesn't and i would stick Evans and Cairney there.
This is the team we put out when we beat them at their place: 34 Stockdale 05 Chester 15 McShane (Hobbs - 27' ) 28 Bruce 08 Evans 10 Koren (Rosenior - 74' ) 27 Elmohamady 29 Quinn 31 Meyler 11 Simpson Booked 30 Brady Booked (Proschwitz - 83' ) Substitutes 01 Jakupovic 02 Rosenior 06 Hobbs 14 Cairney 16 Olofinjana 09 Mclean 33 Proschwitz
...and if Quinn can't make it, that's 2 of the central 3 that are missing from our midfield that beat them last time.
Fresh legs could count for a lot with lots of games together and we have Cairney and Evans, most of the Watford team will have played the other day. Not having Meyler for this game could prove an advantage and when he does come back he will be rested and raring to go. I think Watfords foreign loan policy could backfire too this stage of the season when its about unity and being together.
