Guys I need your help! I am trying to do a where are they now type piece to mark the 25th year since we lost the FA youth cup final to Coventry. In this case Google doesn't have the answers! Does anyone have any memories of this cup run, players etc? I know all the CAFC goal scorers and who they beat on route to the final but thats about it! Thanks in advance 4ever

Seriously, dude, no-one should attempt to do any sort of historical work on Charlton without having Colin Cameron's two magnicent reference works to hand. Unfortunately mine are now over 4000 miles away while my memory was last seen wandering lost in Plumstead fifteen years ago, so I cannot answer your question, except to say I remember the Kimble twins at full-back and legend Leaburn up front. Robert Lee? Mark Stuart?
Of course I have consulted my copy of Home & away with Charlton Athletic 1920-2004 edition, in fact I some times sleep with it! All that gave me was the goal scorers and the victims of every round. The Kimble brothers, Lee (R) and Stuart where a few years before. From twitter and email responce I have put this list of possibles together Natham Amato Paul Bacon Scott Minto Geoffrey Thomas Carl Leaburn Ronnie Mauge Steve Thurlow Peter Evans Mickey Bennett (he told me himself he played in the final) Gordon Watson Jason Lee Mark Tivey Darren Pitcher So that could be our match day squad? As soon as I got to bed I realised I had made a complete fool of myself. Again! At the back of my senile brain I was thinking about some 5- or 6- aside tournament on TV where we got to the final. I think the players I mentioned must have been in that. Many apologies cafc4ever. Most surprised it is not in Cameron though. I know he cannot go into Youth football in much depth but I thought he would have that one.
