Here's an email I've received from Ian Taylor ( Head of Media & Communications. ) Hi all Hope all is well We’re looking to interview a fan (on video) who attended every one of our 1966/67 League Cup ties … If you or any of your fellow supporting R’s can give a nod to someone who may be able to assist, that would be much appreciated Regards Ian If anyone on here meets the criteria or knows anyone that does and would like to do it can you let me know or contact Ian directly. Cheers.
Can't beat Jeff. I went to all the home games (and Wembley), but didn't get to either of the away games. Watched the highlights of the Birmingham away semi-final on BBC without knowing the score - amazing!
That's a shame mate. I did have you in mind when I read the email but thought you might fall short agewise.
Birmingham away was magic, after the match there was loads of supporters outside a TV shop & luckily had highlights on of the match! You wouldn't see that now.
A TV shop? That's something you don't see anymore. I think it was 'Radio Rentals' that was the main player back in them days. I've found a picture of you on that magic night Jeff ... please log in to view this image

As a 12-year-old kid, I remember being in awe of the fact that they had World Cup hero Banks in goal, and couldn't see how we could score 1, never mind 4. I've been trying without success to find a video of the game, but my memory is of Les Allen chipping Banks from the edge of the area with the ball hitting the bar and rebounding into the net off the goalie.
it would be great if someone could get hold of the highlights of the 1st leg. Barry Bridges got their goal I think
