http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2399237,00.html "With well over 18,000 tickets already sold for the Liverpool game, pre-sales orders for shirts reassuringly high, and preparations for the season at an advanced stage these are exciting times for sure." Did not expect that
Liverpool are a big draw, saying that the support for Hull locally has gone up dramatically since the Brownie glory days. Did think it would be less though, maybe 13000, which is still good in my book.
I've just been to get a ticket, apparently there is nothing available at all in E4-E7. There were about three seats left in E3, where I ended up going, and I heard them say to the bloke next to me that the only seats in the West Stand are in the Upper tier. I know Liverpool are very well supported, but this must still be some kind of record for a pre-season game. We never got close to this for that Newcastle game at the start of 2007/08, did we?
There are tickets left then ? i'll be going in the morning at about 11/11.30 to HOPEFULLY get two tickets
There were 20 minutes ago... but there was a healthy queue. Not round the corner, by any means, but certainly through the door. All seemed to be coming for City too.
I'm not saying there'll be no tickets, but they're definitely selling well - I'd be tempted to call and see if you can book over the phone, then pick up before the game. They weren't bluffing either. They were showing the screens to pick the seats, and they were all red.
As is mine but i was thinking... i'd say about 18,500 will be sold by tonight ? meaning theres another 3,000 odd tickets left.. if im getting to the ticket office for 11am there will still be tickets left? i only need 2 so im sure theyll be 2 seats somewhere.. i dont care where im sat aslong as i get a ticket for the minutes applause for my mate
Dowies_Hair was a good mate of Josh Fell's, the 15 year old City fan who died of a heart attack while playing footie in a park in Hornsea. His loss is quite rightly being acknowledged by the club tomorrow.
Josh Fell, 15 year old lad from Hornsea (He was a mate of mine, although he was in year 10 and i wasnt) he went to play football with his mates complained of feeling tired.... his mates thought he had fallen to sleep but sadly he died in his ambulance holding his dads hand.. later found out he had SADS (Sudden Death Syndrome) Had a huge funeral decked out in Hull City colours everyone wore Hull City shirts (even a guy from the club came) he was a massive Tigers fan followed them home and away and just loved Football. So the club are having a minutes applause and dedicating the game to him... (btw it was on Look North and in This Is Hull, if you google it im sur eyoull find something) if not heres the facebook page i set up and have since handed over to his family http://www.facebook.com/pages/RIP-Josh-Fell-10596-90611/104066896353514
anybody remeber the attendance for the leeds friendly in 2003? ( i think) seem to remember that being pretty full also , surely theres 6 thousand tickets left, the 18,500 will include the full away end
What a real nice gesture, i never knew the lad, but i will be taking part in the Minutes Applause. Are they deffinatly going to be selling tickets on the day, as on the city webiste they were advising you to go and get your tickets before as they were not sure if the club were selling tickets on the day
That was a full sell out and we also managed just under 25,000 for the Newcastle friendly the same year
Tickets left in South and West according to the official website... only available from 9am till 12noon at the ticket office.. whatevers remaining will be available from the turnstyles ........ looks like ill be going to buy mine at 10/10.30 instead!
and there was me saying 11,500! yes LFC is a big name but City fans are clearly feeling up for the new season..
