Home games against Burnley and West Brom , after our visit to Old Trafford are the games that will define our season early . in my opnion. The closing of the window is one huge date also . No matter who it is , if they dont want to be here I hope they are gone and replacements found at a profit pembs.... getting excited no matter the scenario ...world cup just doesnt do it for me really .

I think that's a tad presumptive ... "doesn't want to be". "Word on the street" is that Monk told Canas and Poz and perhaps others that they were not in his plans. Pablo may have been one of the others; but I don't recall that being mentioned anywhere.

We don't know Canas' state of mind at the start of training camp; or Poz, or Pablo. So we don't know whether this situation is driven by Monk, or to be fair, Monk's response to a situation.

We don't know (at least I don't) what prompted Pablo to go looking for other opportunities - his own choice, or a choice made for him.

Perhaps there are people on the forum that can be definitive - not speculative - about this.

We know Poz has found a new home. We don't know what's happening with Canas. Apparently, Pablo has been out in the middle east. Speculation on my part, but if Pablo found himself in the same predicament as Canas / Poz, and not going on the tour, then maybe he found an alternative to training with the U-21 or by himself.

Does anybody know where Canas has been training. For that matter, does anybody know anything about Curtis .... is he still around?

really don't understand the moves to middle East by some players. It's obviously money driven I know but surely you want some sort of challenge? Dejagah of Fulham has gone over there too and, yes he is Iranian, but he can certainly play at a higher level

It tells you all about the desire and mindset required when he's left a difficult league such as our for a very easy ride out there. We can't afford to have players of that mindset. I don't think he could cope with the physical nature of British football hence breaking down all the time.

As already mentioned, I think this season bares some resemblance to our first season in the PL. We went away to Man City in the first match expecting nothing other than a heavy defeat. It was the next match at home to Wigan that would give us an idea of how we would be able to cope. This season - starting away to Man United - I expect us to be beaten by two or three goals (hopefully nothing worse than that). It's the next match against Burnley that is the match we should win without doubt.

Not every player wants a challenge, as is the case with all jobs. Some people love a challenge, while others like to take it easy and earn lots of money. Nothing wrong with either approach.

Montero and Pablo on opposite flanks could be huge. It would make Routs and Dyer work even harder to become first choice. Has to be positive.

i am not sure GM is that fussed on Dyer, since he has been manager Dyers appearances definately went down. I Have a feeling we may see Routs on the right and Montero on the left and Dyer being the one chasing a spot.

Think you are right about Monk and Nathan - shame as Dyer is a very good player who has speed and the occasional goal. Monk seems to go for bigger players.
But we do have excitement on the wings and I would like to see Pablo back in the fold; Pablo, Dyer, Jeff and Routs ... not bad!

Its a shame as when Rangel and Dyer play well on the right, they are unplayable and make a lot happen. I always feel a bit of disappointment when Dyer doesnt start, I love wingers who get the ball down and go at fullbacks at pace. We seem to have 3 of them this year and Montero certainly does that. think Dyer will have to be patient this year.
