So only 16 days to go until the transfer window slams shut for 4 months and we have no right back or left back and we are in dire need of reinforcements up front such as 2 strikers and a right winger to compliment mclean. Yet all we hear about is fletcher surely mon is experienced enough to know that we shouldnt put all our eggs into 1 basket and im praying that he has a plan b in place and that we are also trying for players in other positions and we havent wasted the last month chasing just 1 player. i was over the moon when oniell took over as i thought both him and short would take us forward but we are stalling. i hope im wrong and we sign 5 players in the next 2 weeks but im struggling to remain optimistic!
There is no way O'Neill will think that Fletcher is all we need for a successful season. We must have other targets, we must be quite good at not disclosing our targets that's all.
I agree - The only time we've heard who we've been after is when the other club has gone public, not us. MON has never stated our target...
Like everyone else im tryin to remain optimistic that we are just keeping our cards close to our chest and we have other leads yet to come to light. Im sure a little while ago O'Neill said we had quite a few bids in for players and yet apart from Fletcher not many have come to light, so fingers xd the next 16days bring a few new recruits. Keep the faith!
Can play at right back yeah but won't want to. If we try to play him at full back consistantly for a month or longer he'll start moaning about homesickness again I imagine.
For us now? Perfect scenario? We but 3 or 4 class players. Can they fit in straight away? Probs no. We are in the clarts. Sick. x

MoN said a couple of days ago that more players would arrive than everybody expects I personally hope RB - Hutton LB - Olsson straight swap for Campbell CM - N'Zonzi W - Phillips W - McGeedy or Johnson CF - Fletcher CF - Saha CF - Guidetti (loan) might be asking abit much to get all them but if we can get 5 or more I will be happy

Not arguing with you kidda as you know I rate your contributions on here but I'm very surprised that you're so negative when its not necessary. As you say, SKP and Bent are once in a decade strikers but that's not Mons fault. We don't have a team full of ****e we have an experienced team of mid table plodders. We need 2 or 3 key signings, and most vitally a striker, which we all know Mon is after, to make us top 7 or 8 challengers but we certainly are not knackered or in the clarts by any stretch man.
I keep saying this but no-one seems to listen. MON will do most deals in the last 2 days for the window, as he did when he was at Villa. We will not sign exotic names from abroad as he sticks to proven EPL players or youngsters he can develop (like Young at Villa). He also looks for good players out of favor who's careers he can resurrect. I expect everyone to be fairly un-happy by the end of the window, but I expect everyone to be happy at the end of the season when we start winning matches. MON will player Cuellar at RB (as he did at Villa). Unless we get a decent offer for Ricco I can see him being our LB again this season. I think we will sign a winger, centre half and midfielder on top of 2 x strikers.
