Sunderland are set to step up their recruitment drive this week with an improved double bid for Fabio Borini and Ashley Williams. The Black Cats have already signed Costel Pantilimon, Billy Jones and Jordi Gomez. They have seen offers of £10m for Borini and £4m for Williams rejected by Liverpool and Swansea City respectively. But the Reds are close to completing a £25m swoop for Southampton’s Adam Lallana, who often plays in Borini’s favoured left-hand side attacking role. And with only a year left on his current contract, Williams has yet to accept the terms of the new deal the Swans have proposed to him.
Would be happy with those two for £15 mil. 5 players in and £15 spent with a ton of players off the wage book? Great business so far
Can't see us letting Borini go and not for £10m given Suarez's ban. Reckon it may mean he stays at least until January now. Offer around £15m for him and may be too tempting to turn down though.
Why? You're in no Position to demand any profit on the lad, It's only because of us giving him games last season that he's managed to retain most of his value. You didn't need him last season when Suarez was banned and you have Lambert now. 10m break even and you'd be daft not to sell. Or keep him, he'll not get his place and he'll lose value on a month by month basis. We'll have him a years time for 5 or 6 million. You'll sell. You might get lucky with 10m raising to 12m, but 10 cash should be enough
Borini isn't likely to want to act as temporary stand in for the Merseyside Cannibal. Liverpool have done his career no favours so I can't see him wanting to waste another season there.
He's still young and Rodgers obviously likes him having had him at Swansea, worked with him at Chelsea and brought him to Liverpool. After last year he can offer something different to our current forwards and personally think he'll get a decent chance to prove his worth for us. We're in a position to demand what ever we want for him as the selling club. Whether anyone takes him at the price is a different matter but if not then he'll be a decent addition to our forward set up.
He's not getting any younger, has just seen a World Cup go by and knows he wouldn't get more than 15/20 games at Liverpool. I can't see him staying whether he goes to Sunderland or elsewhere.
The reason Rogers took Borini to Liverpool was he knew what he was getting with the lad, you gotta remember that this was a massive step up as well for Rogers. When Liverpool started to perform to the point where you thought that the league was yours and finishing in a respectable place, Rogers may have raised the bar with signing a better quality attacking players (no disrespect to Borini) in Alexi Sanchez Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri. Hence this is the reason you will sell Borini.
He ain't worth 15m, nowhere near, even your club doesn't value him that much. Rodgers signed him two years ago and he's failed to break the first team, in which time your board has released the funds to make next level signings, I think you've evolved beyond Borini. I think Rodgers knows it and Borini knows it. His value hasn't increased, almost certainly decreased (you don't pay 10m not play him and expect profit). I think you'll sell for 10 and you're actively looking to sell him. His lass was back up here this weekend you know?
everything the lads have said above plus, you owe us a **** load of add-ons for the mig and jordan, big bargaining tools imo
Who are Liverpool bringing in to replace Gerrard, any ideas? It looks like they're stalling on building a new stadium in order to chase glory as well, Anfield is ****ing rotten.
Even this Liverpool Fanzine thinks 10m http://www.liverpool-kop.com/2014/06/liverpool-willing-to-sell-borini-lfc-transfer-news.html?
Finance isn't usually my concern but there's better available for that kind of money, I'd be comfortable with £8 million top whack.
Generally there'll be a few that knock up the price like appearances, goals, and sometimes even international appearances. I really hope it doesn't go as high as 12 though.
