We are still in a precarious position, with just 14 matches to go and with both Northampton and Daggers holding relegation places below us right now we may be lured into a false sense of security but both these sides having a game in hand over us we should be under no illusions. We can't afford to keep drawing matches, 1 point per game simply isn't enough - we need to bag 3 points especially to sides below and around us. Sorry for stating the obvious but there seems to be no sense of urgency among the fans anymore. COYG!
I think people are just becoming all urgented out Mrs lalala. The whole season so far has been one of might be this or that and disappointment that there is only so much people can take. Ultimately we will be where we will be which is also stating the obvious I'm afraid. I think everyone is still hoping and haven't given up but many more Saturdays like the last one and we will be so comatosed we will have given up the will to live. This is the third season on the trot like this and it is hard to get motivated. I've gotten upbeat many times before only to be beaten down again so I'm not going to get carried away this time.
I am left wandering how much longer Fletcher will be telling us how chuffed he is that we kept a clean sheet.......three on the trot now......a possible nine points turns into five because we cannot score against struggling teams. I would prefer that we gave six goals away in each of those games.........and scored seven each time..........it's a winning formula,it's simple really......score one goal more than the opposition.....and you get three points............or even lose one every third game will do.....as long as you win the other two. I don't want to hear excuses about the boys working their socks off, yah know, yah know, yah know, plus all the other Fletcher speak.
In a word................No. I still get the shakes every time there is a corner or any kind of cross into his box.
Need for another loan striker if window still open....surely we can't go down can we?....To be fair the admin affair kicked us in the teeth with all that timewasting....that was just like 10pts at least thrown down the drain!....Lets hope those missing thousands realise the ****e we're in. COYG.
It is frustrating that with so many draws recently, just a couple of goals, strategically placed, would have seen us clear of immediate danger. However, with Chadwick, Tsoumu, MacDonald, Lecointe & Feeney on the books, I doubt we need MORE strikers. Better service is always desirable..... Being able to keep a clean sheet is a huge step in the right direction, thanks [presumably] to Purse & Blanchard and possibly Wooton, whose arrival seemed to stem most of the defensive leaks. Any pundit in the land will tell you that a sound defence is a prerequisite for doing well. It seems to me this squad has proved it CAN win games, quite convincingly sometimes, and has the heart & ability to tough out difficult situations. What's needed is to settle on a successful style of play and deliver that consistently, not veering from 0-4 victories against a team in the top 10 one week to disappointing home draws against key rivals the next. In other words, over to you Mr. Fletcher.
Oh dear.....maybe your last sentence is the problem.........I just find it so hard to feel confident in Carl (they played their socks off) Fletcher.
I did'nt get a sense at all on Saturday, during and after the Dagenham debacle that fans were becoming complacent, everyone I spoke to coming out of the devenport end, and could hear talking were saying that we need 3pts a game and draws are no good and basically we are in the mire still.Thought saturday was as frustrating a day as I can remember, talk about a game for the taking -it was positively gift wrapped.Big crowd, good weather, team full of positive energy after a great result playing a team who looked quite frankly down and out with no creativity, and WE BLEW IT-only time will tell if it will cost us survival.Although to be fair the players looked as gutted as the crowd at the final whistle.
The team should be capable of pulling away from the bottom of this league.........but is the management good enough to lead them upward.........we need answers very soon and not just on a postcard........will tonight give us any positive answers ?
Add on say 10 points this lot would probably have got if they had started this season. We would be about mid table with the management we have. It's like a broken record on these chat sites. We have Fletcher and Co and are going to have them till the end of this season at least. Live with it.
