In the overall context of a 90 minute game quite a damning statistic.

An incredible statistic!! And a massive indictment of Bruce and his "assistants" coaching competence and tactics given the quality of the players at their disposal. Even the awful Bolton team has managed to do better. The whole miserable bunch should be fired while there is still the possibility of promotion. Unfortunately its not going to happen!!

It's part of Bruce's "We're little old Hull" philosophy. He's got it in his head that we have to respect the opposition and just accept being on the back foot whenever we go away. We never take the game to teams away from home, which is a shame given how easily we put teams to the sword at home.

4 away wins, 4 away defeats this year = 12 points from 8 away games

1.5 away points per game = very decent given the teams we've faced in those games

We've almost definitely messed up automatic promotion and what should have been a beautifully appropriate first title win in exactly 50 years. That's partly because we lose so many games so bloody easily. Other teams get the odd draw. We either score first and comfortably win, completely shutting out the opposition or concede first and lose easily without ever looking like getting back into it.

We've lost twice as many as Burnley. How does that happen with by far the best defenders in the league?

Oh there you go, getting all clever about what it takes to avoid losing football matches. Arent you aware it's all about number of crosses into the box?

To be fair though, i do think Burnley will blow it. Brighton are a better yard stick.

Make that 14 away games in a row without a first half goal. And today ineptitude at the back has joined the shambles which is our supposed "strike force". Bruce has to go after yet another debacle. BRUCE OUT!!

So we sack the manager because we didn't score a first half goal??
And we only drew away against a team battling to stay up, so we have to sack the manager NOW- with six games left with promotion still on the table ??
What a crazy angry world you must live in.

At what point does Bruce become responsible for the last 18 months? If the team isn't good enough it's Bruce's fault as he brought them in, if the players are good enough and they aren't reaching their potential it's Bruce responsibility to make them play to their potential.

I agree that sacking Bruce now is stupid, but he should go at the end of the season. We aren't sacking Bruce because we didn't score a first half goal, we are sacking him due to the dire football in the past two years, the fact we had a good solid PL squad about to go into Europe and now we are scrapping to get into the play offs. Surely the line has to be drawn somewhere?

Most people have been wanting to sack Bruce for two years. I thought he should have been sacked nearly four years ago.

You're just making yourself look even more stupid.

Trouble is most of em are the same spineless know-nowt silly ****s who wanted Pearson out, Phil Brown out, Phil Parkinson out and Peter Taylor out, so their opinions are worthless I'm afraid.

    Sometimes Chazz, a man is just a useless ****. And a ****.

Steve Bruce is one of those ****s, I saw right through him from the start. You were the same with Pearson.

I think the club have missed a huge opportunity here. I think they should link up with a local brewery or beer brand and launch a new initiative called 'Mines a Half' In an effort to get match prices down, the Allams having previously stated they wanted a £10 ticket price and have talked about a much welcomed reduced average match day ticket price of £27 as part of the new membership scheme, why not a ticket for the first half and a ticket for the second half only scheme?

I reckon a ticket that allows you to watch the first half only for £5 including a match day programme and a free beer might just match a ticket for £13.50 to see the second half only; after all what's the point in paying for a first half when absolutely nothing happens, the action is all in the second half only.

So their you have it, the 'Mine's a Half' membership initiative, starts 8.45pm next Friday! :1980_boogie_down:
