December is almost over and so far we have collected "five gold rings" and remain undefeated in the league as we go into what is likely to be our toughest test so far against the now top of the table Shrews. I expect the physio room to be busy with a que for the massage table reviving tied legs and with limited resorces I do not expect many changes from Gaz I think we will again go with five in midfield and keep it tight and I would take the draw now so fingers crossed we at least get "six geese a laying" and hoping for "eight maids a milking"
Unless this game is already sewn up, the last 30 mins will be gruelling after Friday's slog and it could boil down to which is the fitter team.
This will be tough as they're unbeaten at home.Rumours going around that a few players have been ill. That'a all we need with such a small squad.
Oh dear. This could be our first thrashing, which will not be good for morale. What happens if we can't field a side?
i think that if the back 4 are fit and we keep with 5 in midfield then it will be tight. Maybe even a sneaky victory. Fingers crossed.
No Hayes or Murphy. Pleased Scowen is fit. Is this Lewis's first start of the season? Same back four which is good.
Gaz makes 4 changes with Holloway starting as a lone striker Lewis Blooms and Fred come in for Rowe Murphy and Wood with the later 2 droping to a 4 man bench with Craig and Baz
Six points and undefeated in the league in December having played three of the top six Happy New Year
So we go into the new year in second behind Shrewsbury by i goal, results went our way today. Before the season started who'd have thought we'd be in this position?
What a fantastic result. I missed the game but I had told my wife we were in for a thrashing today. When I came in she only greeted me with "Did you stay out there working to avoid the match?" "How many did they lose by?" I asked. "3" was the reply. "3-0.? I thought that would be the score, ****" About 30 mins later she pipes up with "So Wycombe are joint top now". I looked at her, puzzled, and she says "They drew" Made my ****ing day.
A good result with Hartlepool at home next Saturday we could have six points from the 12pts over Christmas which is good going for a squad as small as ours.
Fantastic result, will take that. Shrewsbury will go up, no question and to take a point there when we could only name 3 outfield subs too. Well done lads! This team keeps defying the odds
How we managed to sneak the draw today I will never know! Arguably we got a little lucky with the offside flag for their disallowed goal right at the end, but after last year I think we deserve some. Great save from Matt from a free-kick 20 minutes from the end as well, had that gone in we were toast. Paris worked his socks off again, fantastic to see him coming of age this season. Absolutely froze my bollocks off in 0 degree weather, but it was worth it, onto Hartlepool!
Lucky game for both in some ways. You came to attack. Your number 7 seemed a threat all game. How does someone get an offside from a deflected shot against keeper that they made happen?
