Was there ever a better 'Side 1' in LP history? Personally, I was about 8 or 9 when this record came out and it's an absolute belter! Status Quo have a movie out now/soon and I thought it would be good to think about the times in their career, where they weren't on a farewell tour... or some other **** like that. "Down Down" is my fave off the 33rpm 12" vinyl rock & roll masterpiece... You got one?
Actually I did have this, I think my brother bought it then I somehow got it and it became something of a guilty pleasure, no idea what happened to the album but I recently downloaded it and had a splendid time reliving those riffs
It wasn't until about 1988/89 that I realised that '12 Gold Bars' was actually a compilation! <nottoobright>
I never had 12 Gold Bars, but, I did like them at one time and had 'Blue for You' album from '76. Also had their first single 'Pictures of Matchstick Men'. A 60's peace and love sound that started Quo off. Then I found The Jam, Clash etc and that was it - no more Quo. I still like this though.
