Wonder who will be in and who won't be in our squad come 11pm on friday when the transfer window slams shut.

With rumours of Dawson, Olsson, Strinic, Berbatov, Guidetti, Dempsey and now even Van Der Vaart its certainly going to be an exciting last week but the most important thing for me is keeping Stephane Sessegnon.

After the two fantastic signings yesterday for me Sessegnon is still the main man, he is the magician pulling the strings and creating things for us and now with Adam Johnson and Steven Fletcher who add quality to our starting lineup I think if Sess stays he will be even better this season!

MoN has done exactly what he and Ellis Short have said in going for quality over quantity, I wouldn't be surprised if another 4 did come in but the 4 that have came in have all added something different to our squad.

Carlos Cuellar is a very good defender
Louis Saha on his day is outstanding
Adam Johnson is arguably the best english winger
Steven Fletcher is a 10+ a season striker (hoping he can get around 18 for us this year)

I will be the happiest mackem if come next saturday we have Sessegnon in our starting lineup and we have 3 or 4 new players in our squad, as for outgoings I wouldn't lose any of sleep if we lost Bramble, Kilgallin, Elmohamady, Vaughan, Meyler, Richardson or Campbell if the deal was right for the club. I hope Wickham goes out on loan as the lad needs games.

Ha'Way the Lads I rekon top 9 finish and for us to get to 50points for the first time since we have been back in the prem

I think you echoe the thoughts of most. I think Mon is building his team around sess.

    Good post.

I'd agree with all of that. Yesterday's rumour was a swap deal including Sess for Van der Vaart. That interests me VDV is a fantastic player who scores goals, if the rumour is true I'm not sure how I'd feel about that.
    Anyone?

I've got a horrible feeling he might go as he's unsettled, but ONeil's set up is fluid around sess, so we could adapt. If he did I'd rather see us go 2 up top. Vdv would play same role as sess. So would rather get a Defoe type.

Let's try keep him, if not then he's a massive bargaining tool.

One question, in the past what formation has Mon played?

If there are any Sess suitors they will need large cheque books and considering there have been no bids thus far, they will need to be quick.

Unless its a bid from France (if he is homesick), I cant see where he would go. I like Sess but if I'm honest, could he play in any of the top 4 /5? Not imo. Utd, City, Chelsea and Arsenal all have better players and a first team berth week in week out would be hard for him to get a regular me. The next batch of teams are no better than we are and especially with our new signings. Would you rather play for AVB or MoN? Everton cant afford him. Liverpool are in free fall and Rodgers is about to implode.

We wouldnt sell him to the mags and any others are not a good move for him anyway.

I'd want a minimum £20m + for him if we did sell him. If Joe Allen is a £15m player, Sess is twice the player he will ever be.

That said, I am pretty confident he will give it another season to see how our new team develops. I can also see a LB and a Striker coming in and maybe Richardson, Campbell sold and 1 or 2 of our player loaned out.
