Think they are being a bit optimistic giving it to Charlton How many of the 1000 allocation will you use? 600 I reckon
I heard on the radio that at least one match this weekend that was supposed to have 1,000 fans allowed in, is now going to be played behind closed doors. The reason? Because there has not been enough time to organise the orderly selection of 1,000 fans. Other games that could have allowed 1,000 fans in, may also end up allowing none because of lack of time to plan it properly.
Understandable depending on when they were notified. Staff for the kiosks, refreshment booths stocked etc etc. That said, I'm sure if the fans that were allowed to go were told there would be limited facilities available, it wouldn't stop them. Also, would it be cost efficient (especially in the lower leagues) 1,000 fans paying £15 per ticket that would probably have paid £10 to watch on i-follow anyway. Talking £5K extra less paying the staff
Token numbers of fans is never going to add up economically. The 1,000 number is just a first step, to make initial assessments. They might as well abandon it now anyway, as Coronavirus infection rates in the community will actually pass the previous peaks in April and May, assuming the UK follows the pattern in France. This time next month we could be looking at a curfew every night. Lockdown Mk II.
P*** off Spanner, this is OUR forum. You're not in a position to welcome new members. Go to bed, it is getting late.
What's your take on this takeover Dickie? One thing I can't work out. Why would TS be interested in Charlton in the 1st place? He's getting a 3rd tier football club with no assets and which is losing money like Andros Townsend in the bookies. Doesn't stack up!!
He likes us because we are wonderful Supporters and jolly good eggs. I have also heard the Takeover is very close, but I won't hold my breath because we have been there before.
Our owners father in law has just passed away (RIP) and left $200bn between his 3 children - 2 of which are directors of MFC. I think they will be ok with losing £5M per year!
