    Hey guys

Just think it would be nice to have a thread commemorating the last 10 seasons that we spent in the Championship, both high and low points, as our promotion has seen the end of an era, even if it is a short stay out. So tell or show your favorite memories, worst and turning points across the last decade.

I'll start with a nice match that saw us go top of the Championship in 2006. Some interesting names in this one!

Judging by all the replies it wasn't a very good 10 years :emoticon-0110-tongu

One of my earliest memories of the championship was beating Crewe 6-1 in a relegation dogfight.

    Ah yes!

    Cardiff 6-1 Crewe

Cardiff skipper Darren Purse is mobbed by his team-mates
Cardiff confirmed their play-off credentials with a second-half demolition of struggling Crewe.
Michael Ricketts thrashed in a fierce drive to put City ahead but Stephen Foster nodded Crewe level before the break from Kenny Lunt's free-kick.

Joe Ledley headed Cardiff back in front and Kevin Cooper drilled in the third.

Darren Purse fired in a penalty after Alan Lee was fouled and Cameron Jerome blasted the fifth before Jason Koumas' top corner strike rounded off the win.

    Cardiff manager Dave Jones:
"After 20 minutes we should have put the game out of their reach but didn't and I had to let my players know how I felt.
"We took our foot off the gas midway through the first half which gave them hope but we lifted ourselves.

"I am really delighted for all the players."

Cardiff: Alexander, Weston, Loovens (Cox 45), Purse, Barker, Cooper (Parry 75), Ledley, Whitley, Koumas, Jerome, Ricketts (Lee 62).
    Subs Not Used: Ardley, Margetson.

    Booked: Purse, Lee.

    Goals: Ricketts 18, Ledley 48, Cooper 60, Purse 67 pen, Jerome 68, Koumas 74.

Crewe: Williams, Moss, Foster (Higdon 73), McCready (Bignot 55), Tonkin, Billy Jones (Vaughan 45), Gary Roberts, Lunt, Varney, Rivers, Suhaj.
Subs Not Used: Steve Jones, Tomlinson.

    Booked: Moss, Foster.

    Goals: Foster 31.

    Att: 10,815

    Ref: M Russell (Hertfordshire).

One of my favourite games was the 4-2 win over Watford a few seasons ago, particularly memorable for me as Watford scored shortly after the start of the second half while I was finishing off my glass of red wine under the stand, so missed it. What struck me though, apart from the delight of another city win, was the style of play by Watford that day, which particularly impressed me so much that I though the final score flattered us somewhat. They played effervescent, flowing football and came at us with wave after wave of attack, particularly down the wings. And just who was the manager of Watford that day? None other than Malky Mackay of course.

For me it's the 2-0 away win against Middlesborough with Whitts and Ledley banging in the goals. For me Whitts goal was goal of the season. Tricky footwork and great skill.

    Edit: FA cup game.

Going to Sunderland and winning 1-0 on a cold November night - special, also dismantling Leeds at elland road 4-0 (I think)

Beating Burnley 3-1 on easter Monday with 2 from McCormack & one form Bothroyd was a major highlight. The season went sour then of course with the calamitous 6-0 drubbing at Deepdale.

    Great other memories

    Putting 5 past Gillingham
    Beating West ham 4-1.
Beating Leeds with 9 men at the end.
    Chopra's winner v Swansea
Holding on to beat Leicester after Gypes was sent off.
    Eddie Johnson scoring v Doncaster
    Chopra's 4 goals v Derby

..............many many more. More highs than lows.

Roger Johnson's last minute winner v Southampton - absolutely soaked on the BB terrace. Chopra v the Jacks, Bellamy v the Jacks. Paul Parry Corners, banter on the BB terrace - good times.

Not Championship I know but JFH's cup goal v. Wolves. I still go the wrong way every time I see it!!

Hudson's half way special v. Derby

Beller's first goal for us direct from a free kick v. Donnie.

Whitt's volley at home (can't remember who against) after a nice bit of keepie uppie.

And a little gem to be treasured as one of only three goals for us by Steve McPhail - a left footed volley from the corner of the box at the Canton End (v. Hull or Blackpool maybe) at Ninian.

Visiting Ajax fans at Ninian in a pre-season friendly - the smoke and smell of herbal products being consumed in the away end while I got bloody soaked on the BB.

Brilliant, we scored some great goals that season.

Parry got some corkers and Whits strike at Boro, with his RIGHT foot, was epic.

2 great goals from McPhail and JFH to finish with, excellent.

Chopra scored a very good hatrick against Leicester at Ninian Park, 3 or 4 nil as I recall!

Edit: Had to check it, 3-2 final score, so much for recollection skills!

Cheers Arwr, Luckily I am not a betting man because I would've put money on it being a Ledley volley. Bloody memory sucks ans it was only in 2008!

For me, it was the season you choked...

    Nope, not that one...
    Or that one...

    That's the one!

Still, on the right path now, eh?
