Time flies doesn't it? Hard to believe how far we've come over these last 10 years. This time 10 years ago I'd have taken having a club to back to. Our wizard Gianfranco was having arguably our best season for us and our stalwarts were carrying us over the line. Who knows what next season will offer us but with Benitez gone in 8 weeks and a young/exciting team maybe we can have something positive to celebrate our 10 year anniversary of ruining football. Lets hope Roman makes the right decisions and its one we can cherish.
We ruined football so much we ended the United Arsenal monopoly of the title if anything we have made English football more competitive as United especially had to raise there game to keep up.
I actually think you made English football more competitive as you broke the Arsenal/United Duopoly. Bearing in mind the amount of money spent on players and marketing Chelsea as a big club, you really you should have become the dominant force in English football but the management of the club has been laughable. You're still well placed to become one of the big teams at some point although even with the success you've had getting people to actually turn up to watch games seems to have been a challenge. You're also forever at an advantange as the modern mercenary footballer will choose London and the fatter pay cheque ("project") over the opportunity to play for a team that can actually challenge for honours on a consistent basis. Until an oligarch or Arab prince comes in for another random club you'll maintain your status as a top 6 club. These are the good times.
10 years! and in that time has Abramovich ever spoken to the fans of 'HIS' club? It's a genuine question.
He decided they were all ****s and he didn't care what they thought Amazing how things can change in a decade. Just ten short years ago Utd were walking away with the title, whilst Chelsea were struggling in the UEFA Cup, facing an FA Cup QF replay and scrapping for 4th spot. What is it they say about the more things change?
love the stature and success we've had, but cannot stand the kind of fan now attracted to Chelsea. Gotta thank Roman though as we were in the **** financially before he came. here's to many more of ruining football
RA has invested, manager and staff and players have worked hard and brought success and RA went and ****ed it all up, he deserves a kick in the bollox for screwing with a very dominant position, all he has done is throw money around and destroy what consistency and success there was. If only he could just stay away from the running of the club
He has promised to next season, hang on what's that ????? I just saw some pigs flying past the window !!
Of course he's totally screwed it up! I'm sure he looks at the last 9/10 years and how he has ruined a "very dominant position". I'm guess he can't believe that in that period Chelsea have only managed: EPL - x3 winners, x2 runners-up FA Cup - x4 winners, x2 r-up Champ League - x1 winners, x1 r-up .....not counting the insgnificant stuff like Community Shield etc. I think that for anyone to assume that any club could be totally dominant in this day and age is asking a lot, and may be just a little on the simple side. Not sure if you realise that this isn't actually FIFA 2012 (or whatever game on your games consol is "in" at the moment)?
