Enjoyed that...certainly true about Leihberr cranes. I saw one being transported whilst on holiday abroad and announced to the coach, 'Ooooh look, a Leihberr crane.' I think some were reluctant to sit next to me after that
The one about Matty in particular. I still drive my kids nuts when watching footie today, "Yeah it was all right but nothing compared to Matty. You should have seen...........". When I mention his name in the same sentence as some of the all-time greats they don't get it because they are fed the same 'big-club' media bias that everyone else gets.
I took a picture of one from my hotel room in Germany in about 2011, just to show my boy when I came home.
I have a proprietary interest in Leihberr cranes...Markus may not have owned them, but I feel by some distant association that they belong strangely to me.
Engineering research connected with trains I think. He inherited part of the crane business, but gave it up because his interests were elsewhere.
Yep - my Dad works on the railway, as a manager, and said after speaking to some of the engineers, that they regarded the parts made by MALI (Markus' company) to be the best there was, although not cheap, understandably.
You need to get hold of a copy of the "Simply The Best" DVD. My Arsenal supporting son watched it open mouthed in disbelief, and was forced to admit his old dad had been right all along (not often that last bit happens).
You know, one of my friends used to do Gatwick - Riga. I'll see if he did the "MARIAN PAHARS!" thing.
Yes. I've done that. Got the same reaction as well. But still they think I protest too much. Lets be honest, many people share their view; Terry Venables and Glen Hoddle among them. I still have my, "Are you watching, Venables" T-shirt.
