I should add that I'm sure we'll go down but you can't pin that on Hughes imho. McCarthy wouldn't have got any more or less out of this lot than Warnock.

18 x 2 is indeed 36 but if there are 12 games left, 2 points per game would provide 24, which isn't going to happen. 18 won't realistically happen either even if performances improve given we still have to play Chelsea, United, Sunderland and City away, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs at home. Even being optimistic you could say we might get, say, five points from those seven, leaving only five other games. Everton at home I can't see a win given the two teams' form, so we desperately need to beat Stoke & Swansea at home and Bolton away and get something at West Brom. I just don't see it happening with this group of players.
