On two separate occasions this season Watford have gone on a run to take 13 out of 15 points but with teams now running on empty it's unlikely to happen again........famous last words. I'd say 9 points would be enough. That would put us on 83 points, meaning Watford would have to win four of there last five games. That would be a very tough ask.
Well, here's our 5 games left: Ipswich (a) Wolves (a) Bristol (h) Barnsley (a) Cardiff (h) Of those matches, the 10 (or 9) points will likely majority come from our next 3 games. I'd expect us to beat Ipswich, Bristol and Barnsley at the least, so there is 9.
On paper you'd expect us to win the next 4 games, however this is the championship so the only 1 we'd win will be Cardiff. On a positive note SEB is out for Wolves, and apparently they were poor against Bolton today (not that a serious injury is ever good)
Ipswich will be immensely hard; they have only conceded one goal in the last 8 games. Quite a record. Still, after this weekend, I believe (barring miracles) that it is a two horse race for second. The thing that worries me most, now, is the injuries we have incurred and the fact we still have (very unfairly at this stage in the season) to play 3 games in 6 days.
I can see Watford taking 12 points from those games, possibly 13 or all 15. Put it this way, I'd have Watford in my accumulator for each of those games.
Only speaking the truth, and on paper someone would have to be mad to bet against Watford in any of those (with a possible exception of Leicester if they actually manage to turn it round by then). But as everyone already said this is the championship and what should happen on paper more often than not happens the opposite way. I expect us to struggle against Ipswich, Wolves and Cardiff, but given the nature of this league we'll probably beat those 3 and lose to Bristol and Barnsley. One things for sure though if I could choose either set of fixtures I'd pick Watfords in a heart beat without having to think twice.
I'm not predicting.. Barnsley for instance had 0 shots on target today against a bucketload for Palace and got a point.. Watford go to Millwall - when it that ever easy? Posh are mercurial, certainly not "easy".. ask Cardiff.. Leicester away.. a team with bags of quality lacking on confidence but it will return.. again easy? no.. they 'should' beat Blackburn and Leeds but Blackburn are fighting for their lives too.. You'd be a fool to predict anything.. I could see Watford gain only 4 points to be honest.. All I'll say is "points on the board" is a big plus.. We have 3 in hand and it's looking better than it did Tuesday night..
I think Peterborough will beat Watford and Proschwitz will score against Ipswich. 6 point margin by Saturday night!
I'd fully expect us to win them all and then we can **** Cardiff off on the final day by clinching top spot!
IMO, Watford will do well 2 win 2 of those ^^^^ games. I expect 3 more Hull City wins to be enough for 2nd place. TWT.
i reckon if we get 5/7 points from Ipswich, Wolves & Barnsley, we should be about there. See you in York next season!!!!
