So, no one from NI, Wales or Scotland voted to leave the EU then, I thought it was the United Kingdom who had a democratic vote in 2016, silly me
Scotland and NI voted remain, Wales voted leave. Some would question how many realised all the potential implications of leave... and especially no deal... as the leave campaign was pretty confident in its assertions we would strike a good deal.
Should I remind you it was the United Kingdom as a whole who voted, you can't split it up fo'fuxake, also I never heard you remoaners banging on about a deal before the vote, you daft ****s should have mentioned it to your local MP before you actually voted
That would have been fine if it had been Norexit or Scexit, but it wasn't, that's how democracy works I'm afraid.
Now I wasn’t suggesting anything was i fella... merely pointing out how they voted... as Davy was suggesting the UK might split.
So not going to drag up Operation Yellowhammer and Boris' letter today etc because we're never going to agree on that ****. So as both a new LUFC season and a new season of Brexit ****e and all the resulting optimism and hope they bring... - thought rather than judge rights and wrongs and same old arguments would ask for predictions for what will happen next - not obviously what you'd like to happen but what you think will actually happen... I'll go for there being an attempt by parliment to block No Deal via legislation (which I think is more likely to succeed than Govt of National Unity or VONC) and then a General Election. I think the government will try and have an election after we've left to nullify the Brexit party threat but I think they'll fail and so there will be an election after an extension which will become a Brexit election and will depend on how split the Tory vote is to Brexit party and how organised Remain parties are to get tactical voting. In the end will be either a slim majority for one of the parties or more likely a hung parliment and so in the end it will be a 2nd ref. BUT there are so many variables in that and the election could easily end up with Tory collapse or Tory majority
I think all the attemps to block will fail and we will exit on the 31Oct. Second scenario, a general election, Liberals will come 2nd and the Tories with 40% of the vote will have a big enough majority to push through Brexit no problem. Will be funny that with remain having a majority, will loose it all.
Question for brexiteers - would you vote for Tory party or Brexit Party or tactically for one of them if the election is after 31 Oct and we haven't left?
dbc and 20/20 will be heard crying, we no longer want a Parliamentary democracy. Can we have another vote. NO
I'd vote Tory and I think they'd have the assurance of a tactical alignment with the Brexit Party to ensure a smooth victory.
With Boris in, the vote will switch back to Tory, remain will be split 30%lib v30%lab and it's goodnight from them, but we will be out by then.
I don’t think there will be VONC or a GONU (much as I’d like Corbyn to be PM Just to piss off people on here). I don’t think Johnson will prorogue Parliament. I don’t know when, but there will be a general election. Although a hung parliament is possible I think Conservatives will win narrowly (if Brexit Party do a deal with them in northern Labour seats than they will win a small majority as a coalition of the two). I believe that Johnson will take any form of majority as a mandate, the EU won’t concede on the backstop and therefore we will leave with no deal. Less sure on timing, it might be 31/10 or a bit later. I’m already focusing on how to respond to post Brexit Britain.
If I don’t top myself on the day we leave I’ll be campaigning to rejoin, helped by the effin disaster that will have befallen us
