After the acquisitions we have made I was getting slowly optimistic and slightly excited about the coming season.

Yet with only 1 week to go we still have huge question marks about creativity and attacking options.

We desperately need to sort the Remy situation out one way or the other and then either bring in 1 (if Remy stays) or 2 more strikers.

We need to get in a midfielder that can create and spray the ball around. Slightly confused and worried about the seeming lack of haste undertaken in these departments which are glaringly needed.

Oh......and what the hell is this situation with Swp that's transpiring........... if he is going to be part of the team then I'm going to start getting a tad worried/scared

Yes, we will be at our best in about 6 weeks after we have dropped about 21 points!!!!!!! and after some games with a settled side we could have won.

Watching Arsenal yday sums up how far away we are and Remy, Taraabt situation is ludicrous

I was wondering what the score would have been had we been playing.

I'm not generally a fan of SWP's footballing but I do think the wing back position suits him more than any at this point of his career. This is where we might get the best out of him. Whether or not his best is better than our other options, I can't say.

But he actually defends well, always tracks back, is positionally not bad when defending and can jump surprisingly high for headers.

And when pushing forward I think he's definitely more useful the Danny Simpson, who simply will not take players on ever.

Don't get me wrong, if named in the team I will give him my support.

Just didn't think we would ever see him play for Qpr again after the last few years of seemingly being incapable of doing anything other than picking up his pay cheque.

If he plays....and plays well... then I shall be very happily surprised.

Still need a striker and creative midfielder though ;)
