I've noticed theres a huge amount of 1timers on here. they come on make a point or give out about something then disappear. ffs stay and argue your case 1 way or the other. why bother coming on here otherwise.
gotcha! but even on the Irish r's thread a lot of fellas came on saying I'm a fan, you'd ask where are they based then wouldn't see another post from them?
It's probably because people are busy. I read most of what's posted, but don't manage to contribute much, in fact I don't think I've even got time to fini
What's really getting on my nerves are the first-time posters coming on calling the team all sorts of names after the match yet we never heard from them before. Johnny-come-lately's with their hindsight in full force.
Don't shoot the messenger! These people may have supported the club for donkeys years but have only just discovered the site. They are entitled to their opinion like anyone else.
Call me a cynic but its very coincidental that they've all "just discovered" this site right after an opening day hammering in the Premier League.
So what you're saying swords is fans should cast an opinion on the team before they've even played a game?! That'll go down well.
YES! That's exactly what I'm saying! The same people that are saying we are fuc*ed were probably part of the "We'll qualify for Europe" Squad prior to kick-off. Everyone on here stuck their neck out and gave their assessment's of the coming season. Bakes and Oddball might have had their head's up their arse but at least they nailed their colours to the mast rather than sit on the fence and wait till we get pasted and THEN give us their views. Just my opinion my friend.
So what exactly is the problem ? Does everyone have to make an average 10 postings per day in order to become a respected member ? Please do not forget that the 4:0 thrashing did upset quite a few people resulting in some negative postings - so what.
It's been a ****ty afternoon and tbh we're having difficulties moderating. Need your help on this please mate. If advertising is what funds our forum, accommodating new members is essential to the process. People have got to start somewhere and are likely to take a lead from the more senior members (many would have been watching us from the gallery before deciding to register). I'm told your quote here, whilst made in all innocense, is causing a bit of concern as it's putting people off from joining us. From an Rs point of view, our numbers in terms of members, threads and posts on not606 is enviable. Let's keep it like that, the more the merrier eh? I would add that I've noticed that us not606 veterans (e.g. those who followed Northolt in at the end of March) are having to step to one side as the newer members introduce and debate issues we've long since done and dusted. Let's let them get stuff off their chests so they can get up to speed with the rest of us. I think Inke's OP said it all: '...they [new members] come on make a point or give out about something then disappear...'. As he says, he'd like them to, 'stay and argue [their] case one way or the other... why bother coming on here otherwise'. As Northolt pointed out, these new members included a number of the home-based Irish lads (there were only four or five of you when Inke's Irish thread started and now the count's about 17 or so!). I'd like to give the new guys time to say their piece and settle in with the rest of us. Numpties or not in our initial judgement, they're all Rs like us and if for no other reason, deserve the chance to bed in. As for your comment about, 'first-time posters coming on calling the team all sorts of names after the match yet we never heard from them before...', no time like the first game in the prem and on the back of a battering at home to attract new members to the board. Gotta be a case of 'welcome brothers' from here on in. No?
