Sitting too deep. This game was there to be taken. We had them on the back foot. Hope nw brings on both for dave.
to be honest they havent really forced a save out of kenny till the goal, great finish. Dave is not the answer, Taarabts playing well, been so unlucky
We seem to like making sure the defence is in a strong line, but we're scared to actually cut balls out and just let them play with impunity until they cross. We're making it too easy for them, especially when we were on top and in control. So bloody annoying. Connolly looks shakey and nearly gifted them a goal. Neil needs to kick some butt. But I must say, Adel seems a different player at the moment, he's not fit that much is for sure looking at the size of his ass, but he seems to look up for the pass more often than not now. Nice to see but he needs to be more effective all round now.
Don't think there's any pleasing some people. Adel has played really well and was so unlucky with the shot that hit the post!
Your point being RangerCol??? I thought we played very well, but in defense we seem to just back off and wait for a cross which is very dangerous in the PL. And if you didn't read my words correctly, I'm praising Adel as he's playing as he should be and looking to make play happen by bringing in others, whereas last season he'd try and do it all alone. But it is clear he isn't training as he should and now he's in the PL he should be fitter than ever. If he doesn't get fit then he'll never be as effective as he should be.
Are you seriously whingeing about Dave? He's been brilliant so far, and isn't the reason we're losing. I think the "sitter" you mention was a snapshot at an angle from some way our when Adel had a shot blocked? Clearly Jay is still feeling the effects of the virus, and will be brough on for 30mins or so once Pat has run himself into the ground.
I didn't notice the Adel whinge either! What the hell, have we been watching entirely different games? Here's my post from the live feed thread "Very reminiscent of Bolton, wonder goal from just outside the box when given a bit too much space. I hate to say it, but we really are unlucky. Losing our fullbacks just before we face a side who like to attack from the wings, losing every single one of our summer attacking signings to injury/virus, and hitting the post twice! Also, i don't like the look of Barton's boyfriend. Poncy-sneering-nobody! "
Fair enough mate. It was just when you said he needs to be "more effevtive all round now.............where as I think he's been our most effective player by a mile. I agree that Connolly looks his usual dodgy self and it's clear for all to see that this defense isn't good enough.
Nope. Don't think Perone, Hall or Connolly are up to it either mate. Forget your Right-Phillips etc, we MUST get 2 centre halves and a left back or else we're screwed! And yes, I think Dave's very poor!!
Dave IS very poor! But he didn't play badly in the first half. We hit the post 3 times, conceded 2 deflected goals, played with 4 cb's against a team that like to attack from the wings, and had so little backing from flav/bernie during the summer that we had to bring on untested youth players(who i thought played pretty well in the event).
Dave is very poor, it's a shame because he started so well for us, he just doesn't seem to have any confidence anymore and seems if possible, to try too hard. Yet he never gets anywhere. Adel was superb in the second half, he's starting to show maturity and awareness, if only one of his shots had gone flying in. Yet there are positives to take from the game. We didn't play all that badly, but we were ineffective up front and the defense is shaky. But I thought Perone does look like one for the future, he'll gain experience from playing with experienced defenders, of course we have to buy them first. I thought Andrade and Harriman both looked good when they came on. It's just we haven't enough experience in the team yet and we are showing it badly. There is also a lack of confidence on the pitch, but it will come. But as Warnocks comments indicated, he knows this team just hasn't got enough in it to play and survive at the moment, but come the Newcastle game it will all be very different. We aren't far off from being a good team, but we need to face facts that we have to lose a few players which will be sad, and we need to bring in the experience, which we are. But soon we will see some exciting football and a whole new generation. The future looks damn good.
