It's best just to stay logged on, Puds.

On another matter, being out here I am logging in during the night UK time, and I am surprised how many times the site goes down for 30 minutes or one hour.

Apparently it's a problem across the site, and the owner has been made aware. <ok>

Myself, I never use the log out function but, part of my computer routine is regular use of a free programme called 'CCleaner', it takes all the **** you accrue while your browsing, temp files, cookies, dat files and other stuff that slows your machine down. I find that every time after using it I have to re-log into the site as it's obviously cleaned up the data pertaining to this site - it's not gonna fix the problems with the site but, if you want to log out it'll do it for you. I use CCleaner, Malwarebytes and Adblocker (all freebies) and, touching wood, haven't had any issues for years.

Typically it'll be when they take the system down for "routine maintenance" - when the expected traffic usage is at the statistical low point.
Upgrades, fixes to reported system bugs etc etc. These down times are usually less than 15 minutes in my experience, often much less.

I guessed that what it might have been, but thought I would put it out there just in case there was an issue.

I may have oversimplified a bit John, but I would suspect it's usually the host server being briefly offline for issues at their end:
Then again, I could be wrong as these networks are often unfathomable !

Just a small warning with this advice, if you delete your password and you're not entirely sure what your password was, then there's half a chance you won't be able to get back on again. If you try and change your password, or ask for a password reminder, there's a decent chance you'll simply be blocked from logging in at all (it's a long standing issue, that site owner Mick has so far been unable to resolve).

i think there may have been issues in the last few weeks because i've had such messages for extended periods (lots > 15min) after not seeing them before.

I believe it does, gambler - you'll need the USB adaptor for your nozzle, but you knew that anyway <ok>
