Despite gaining promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 1996, itâs been a frustrating summer for QPR fans. No sooner had Rangers secured their place in top-flight English football than the club (co-owned by Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone, pictured above) raised season ticket prices by almost 40%. And the Sunday Mirrorâs David Walker feels great sympathy for the QPR fans. âItâs outrageous the way the QPR fans have been treated, the whole price structure, given their support,â David explains. âThe way theyâve stood by the club and whatâs been there for a number of years, QPR fans have been abused shockingly this summer. âAnd I just hope that they see a brighter tomorrow given what they are going through at the moment.â As well as inflated ticket prices, QPR fans have also had to contend with various other unsettling factors. First was a legal challenge by the Football Association over QPRâs promotion from the Championship, then the ongoing speculation over manager Neil Warnockâs future and news that the club could be sold to new owners.
