Says it all. Ashleys sole intention is to make money. This has actually annoyed me.

To be fair, the excess we got for Carroll pushed us way over the tipping point

Even without that we were the 2nd highest profit on net spend to Arsenal.

Yeah and I'd bet we spent more money on players, than we made in the year before Ashley came in.

Yes but we've hardly spent since going down

    Simpson - 1 mil
    Williamson - 1.5 mil
    Routledge - 1.5 mil
    Best - 1.5 mil
    Perch - 1.5 mil
    Tiote - 3.5 mil
    Ben Arfa - 5.5 mil

That's 16 million. Considering we got 8 mil for Oba, 12 mil for Milner, 4 mil for Duff, 35 mil for Carroll, 6 mil for Bassong

I'd say the relegation clear out has most to do with this

The biggest thing that strikes me with these figures is how much in the **** the mackems are. No wonder the chairman is pleading for people to turn up!

He didn't take over in 2006 though did he so at least that year wouldn't count...

I'm actually quite proud to see these figures - we have spent the least (in fact made a profit) of all in the premier league and some other teams i.e. boro and yet look at where we are! Look at what the likes of Sunderland, Stoke and West Ham have spent and where they are in comparison! Even Man City - was it really worth spending £400million(!!!) for what they have now? Champions league football and as yet nothing else? I think the figures also say some positive things about our scouts - aside from some obvious howlers they can pick a bargain or two!

    This.

Look at the spending of both clubs, yet we are so close in the table... shows the bargains we have got really!
