Seriously who are we gona spend it all on.
IMO we need 2 new strikers, they may cost 20 mil maximum (doubt it). But what else!!!
Ok maybe a right back ahead of Simpson so add another 5mil at the most.

Cover for Enrique if he stays, but if not it makes it worth because we're never gona spend 10mil+ on a new left back to replace him so that'll leave us with more money.

We clearly dont need a Goalkeeper, there's enough competition there

Personally if Saylor can keep playing like this then I'm happy with him and Collo as CBs next year, Williamson as back up

You'd have to be mad to buy another center mid, i reckon. I never would have predicted we would be struggling for players to play there (seriously how has that happened)

A new winger/attacking Mid? Well we have Ben Arfa and Jonas who can play there and i'm fine with Barton on the right, Yeh i suppose we could do with another one but i want us to play this formation next year (won't happen like but it's what i want)
    -------Gk-------
    RB--CB--CB--LB
    Nolan Tiote Barton
    --Jonas--HBA---
    ------Striker----

With that you can get our 3 best CMs in and still have room for Jonas and Ben Arfa. Those 2 would have a free role behind the striker so could get wide or come into the middle whatever. Anyway back to the point this formation wouldn't really suit out and out wingers so a small nippy player qouldn't be prority for me

Anyway, that basically is all of the players without naming names that i want for next year and i really doubt even if Parew was on my wavelength ( I wish lol) that we would sign all of them. The point of this article was to say don't be disapointed if we don't spend that much, sure if we spend 7mil on Carlton Cole and nothing else then i'm all in support of a revolution but I think we can substantially strengthen our squad without spending too much. I know thats its not really people on here that this is aimed at but if we spend £25mil in the summer on quality players there will still be people moaning even if the rest of it's gone into the club somehow

Goalkeeper - no need. Harper/Krul/Forster good enough.
RB - Possibly sign a cheap RB who can also cover LB.
LB - if we keep Jose, no need. Will have Jose/Ferguson/Possible versatile RB cover.
CB - Someone to partner Colo. Wouldn't be disasterous if we didnt sign cover, STaylor has looked impressive since his return.
    CM - Not needed. Nolan/Tiote/Barton/Guthrie/Gosling.
    Wingers/Attacking players - 1 good one. £10m
    Striker - 2. Gameiro - £6m? Ba - £6m? Berbatov? 8m Sturridge? £15m

One of Gameiro/Sturridge and one of Ba/Berbatov. Best would be 3rd choice striker.

    Total spending between £20m - £25m probably.

    <ok>

    This. <ok>

One striker IMO is only required if we play a formation INCLUDING ONE STRIKER*(4231/4411/451/etc). Best can act as back-up/cover for that particular <insert name> striker. Lovenrkands/Ameobi and maybe Samuel Ameobi/Ranger(might go on loan)/Airey can be used as back-ups. I'll like TWO strikers but one GOOD striker would do it for me until Jan/next summer were we can really form a decent pack* of strikers. by shipping out the mediocre forwards such as Ameobi and Lovenrkrands.

*Striker has to be QUALITY. Berbatov, Roman Pavelechenko(sp), Gamiero, Ba, Sow, etc for example. NOT Shane Long, Bothroyd, Danny Graham, Carlton Cole, etc. You get the point eh?

I've always thought if we get real quality I'd be happy, but quality costs. I think we need 2 top strikers, a versatile midfielder (can be a bit ****e really) and a good CB. In my half-dream, half-reality land, I'd have Gameiro, Kalinic, Scott Dann and someone like Jack Collison at West Ham. As long as they're good though I'm sure we're all agreed that their name or (lack of) price isn't important

I know he's currently a mackem but how about a cheeky £4 million bid for Onuoha (spelling?). Can play anywhere across the back 4 I think and good competion for Simpson.

I'll like but I'll doubt he'll come here to be cover, especially when he can stay with Sunderland & be first-choice. Agree though I think he's BETTER than Simpson but it'll be unfair on Simpson to be dropped(IMO he's one of the most underrated players in our team & has been mainly consistent this season) & RB isn't exactly a position we need filling in unless it's a versatile(Perch-esque) defender we are looking for. Cover for both full-back areas this season wouldn't be bad mind you. <ok>

The N'Zogbia rumours are pretty strong so I see that as likely - I'd take him as well.

    Harper/Krul

Simpson/new rb Colo Saylor/new cb Enrique

    Jonas Barton Tiote N'Zogbia

    Ben Arfa Ba

Hmm i play with Ben Arfa as a striker on Fifa but i'm not sure IRL that would bring out his best, never know though might work
also not to keen on N'zogbia myself, no doubt his quality but the way he left last time kind of left a bitter taste

In and around the striker I see it, maybe a free role - hopefully around a "big man" type striker like Ba. Would work wonders I reckon. I agree he's not a fully fledged striker.

That's an issue, mainly with the fans - I personally felt Zog was treated pretty badly originally (being played at left back after he had an amazing season at left mid after Duff signed) and Joke In Here hardly handled the situation well either. There's no doubt CHarlie was looking for an excuse to leave and I can imagine him having a hard-to-deal with attitude but I can't imagine Kieneer helped much (I would be pissed off if my boss couldnt even say my name and basically mocked it completely)

People keep on talking about bringing out the best in Ben Arfa etc, but then plonking up front with Ba. Have you seen him play? He wants people running off him. If you're truly gonna bring out the best in HBA and play him in CAM, please have someone that makes runs ahead of him. Not a lump. Unless you're gonna go with 2 up top

This. Gamiero & Arfa IMO would suit each other perfectly. Two very technically-gifted players who have a mixture of pace, energy, dribbling, creativity, finishing & skill abilities. <ok>

Please don't tell me Perch has any relatives playing football, i'd be terrified at even the thought of us signing one. Saying that how much worse could they be, and little Shola looks alright

Your right Kieneer didn't help the situation and should accept part of the blame. But my thinking is what with the imfamous Layton Orient (so famous i've probably spelt it wrong) meeting, is he the sort of player Barton/Smith would welcome back?

Spot on! There's no point have a creative player with the ball if knowones making the runs for him to play the ball to. We would have 2 options

1 - Keep the ball on the deck and have 1 quick player upfront playing on the last mans shoulder and making the runs with Ben Arfa behind

    or

2 - Have 2 up top with Ben Arfa behind them but sacrificing a bit of steel in midfield and having the option of hitting the ball long for the tall/big striker to flick onto the small, quick striker.

Would love this team. Don't need a new CB imo because Taylor is quality and Willo is adequate back up. Nolan would also play a lot because the chances of having all 5 midfielders fit at the same time is slim.

I keep thinking this. I think it's integral that 'the group' are happy with the attitude of any player that comes, so obviously needs to be. When we were linked with Bellamy a few weeks ago, people kept saying, 'but he has a bad attitude/is a bad influence' and I simply couldn't get it. He's the sort of person, Joey, Smith and Nolan love, an honest player and a proper man. No fannying around with lies, etc. Just the truth.
Is it the same with N'Zogbia? I dunno. I'd like to think so, but the only poeple that really know are those at the club

N'Zogbia has played on the right on numerous occasions for Wigan with devasting effect. Scored and won the game at the weekend from that position

Basically if we play a lone striker they HAVE to be good in the air. I agree that you want people to make runs in behind but playing someone who cant hold up the ball as a lone striked is stupid. I know people want us to play a passing game, and that is fine when where on the front foot but when under pressure you need to hoof it at times and you need someone who can take pressure off the rest of the team.

Priority has to be quality winger and a target man ha knows how to score.

    Barton--Tiote
    N'Zogbia-----Ben Arfa-----Gutierrez

N'Zogbia has pretty much kept Wigan up since he left us, he'd give us such an outlet and can score goals by himself.

Ba has scored 6? goals since his move to West Ham in his first season in the Premier League since January. With some decent players behind him I'm sure he could be a 15-20 goals a season striker.
