Not sure exactly what we paid for Daehli in midfield, but do you think we got the better deal? http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ltic-accept-crystal-palace-bid-for-joe-ledley
Time will tell Sparks. Not sure what sort of role Joe now performs other than it must be left centre or simply left but he looks to have bulked up on deep fried Mars bars and more than a few drams of heavy. A better than average player in Scotland but will that count in the Prem? Dahlia is a totally unknown quantity in the UK but his cameos so far have shown he has skill and pace levels above Joe but not necessarily the dog and bite in the tackle. Very different types of player but an interesting comparison.
Fair comment Bluey about them being different types of player. So let's compare him to Eikrem instead - another midfield import. Probably a bit more of a match stylewise?
From Twitter Deadline Day ‏@DeadlineDay Joe Ledley on his way to London after Celtic and Palace agree a £2m fee for the midfielder. Good business. #cpfc #DeadlineDay £2m ? not worth 10% of that IMO
True. I've only seen Eikrem when he came on v. West Ham and he looked good. Excellent control, picked out a pass well and enjoyed a tackle. Reports on his appearances since then have not been so complimentary but still early days for him to find his feet at the highest level. I think he has more potential than Joe who I regard as more of a midfield destroyer rather than a cultured player but a fairer comparison. Again, early days. Worth asking again at the end of February.
Palace pushing the boat out again with £3M for Hennessy? That's sounds a bit steep for me for a guy that's been on loan to Yeovil. If as reported they get Ince as well, Parish will have given Pulis most of what he wanted and placated the guy who was reportedly ready to jump ship if he didn't get the support he needed by the deadline date.
According to SSN, we've signed 6 players so far but only spent £3m. I'm not sure who the 6 are though. Daehli, Berger, Eikirim, Zaha, Jones and Fabio?
