    <yikes>

    That is how much it cost to police the parades in the summer and that isn't taking into account the human costs in terms of the stress of those who had property destroyed in disturbances. It's no wonder there is no money for the Health and Education services.

    It is time for the Executive to take a good hard look at everything surrounding these parades.

    Think of the costs if there wasn't constant rioting and destruction for days on end.

    Yes, without the rioting and destruction the costs would be greatly reduced but I don't know what compromise can be reached to prevent this.

    Ban all contentious parades. At this stage I am thinking that is the only way to stop the rioting.

    <doh> ...without the parades being policed there would be chaos.

    Are you seriously asking this question?

    It's like a ****ing junior school debating team on this thread! <laugh>

    To which the response is going to be about bending to the will of those causing* the bother in the first place. How do you respond to that?

    *Then I'll say something about the cause being those who provoked it in the first place, so lets save time and assume that has been done already.

    In fairness, that isn't what he said, or anything close to it.

    Dale Farm has cost much more than that, is there a pattern here?

    No, I don't think so.

    Fernando Torres cost more than that too.... I don't see any correlation.

    Unless of course you mean that one group won't move on from Dale Farm and another group won't move on from 1690?

    Oh sorry, I thought he was complaining at the high cost of policing parades.

    What was he talking about?

    I was refering to a certain type of people who reject the UK state yet are happy to milk the system with no regard as to how much it costs the taxpayer.

    Flatted the Kesh and let the good brethren tramp round it all day. One peeler could police it and I could sell the fish&chips <ok>
