I would prefer Robbie Keane, back to banging in the goals for Ireland.

Another one on big wages, can we persuade them to drop down to our level? I agree with Ciarrai Abu that Keane looks in decent shape at the moment but he's on £65k a week, somethings got to give...

I'm coming to the conclusion that he could be perfect for us because while his confidence was down he was hopeless but with Neil's ability to get the best out of people and Keane's hunger restored, and his eagerness to prove that he can still cut it,he's worth a shot.
Wages can be negotiated, he doesn't have too many options at premier level.

Unfortunately wages can't really be negotiated where players are still in contract. Older players in particular will be looking to maximize their income rather than guarantee first team football so will not accept a wage cut. It's really put up or shut up when it comes to players like this and there is no sign of us putting up.

Whatever about settling for lower wages, I can guarantee you that he is chomping at the bit for first team PL football after the frustration of the last two seasons.
He hates the bench I know that Warnock fancies him.
Spuds have neither use for nor interest in him anymore;there are always ways of changing things behind the scenes to suit all parties and I'm not referring to Paladini ways!

there's no way we will pay 4 mill and the kind of wages Andy Johnson would want And i don't care how much Robbie Keane wants to play he wont take the kind of drop in his wages it would need for him to play, i cant see Harry letting him go for free, better getting someone young and hungry.

Johnson has always been a player who scores half his goals from the penalty spot
Take them away and his goals per game is quite poor
