Are we going to have these threads about every striker that moves during this window? Woods and now Davies. Bruce will have his targets and I'm sure he'll come good.

He is no better than Jay Simpson, and certainly not good enough for the Premier League.

Have to agree with steve bruce have watched him several times and he would not be any improvement on what we have already.. The thing i like about our current transfer policy is that we are not just buying short term to gain promotion, all the signings will be able to hold there own in the EPL (IMO) . One of the reasons bruce was brought in was that he had experience in keeping teams in the EPL and you can see already he is building a squad for this, when Phil Brown took us up he brought players in to get us up.

I disagree with the, Phill Brown comment. The aim of our promotion season was actually top half. He brough in players that he thought would achieve that, but they did alot better then was expected.

One of the problems going into the Premier was we had to build a new side and brought in something like 13 players.

Our current squad has been slowly built over the last three years, if you look at history teams who have done that have had more long term success. Look at the likes of Stoke and WBA.

That's where we cocked up. We should have made a few additions, and spent wisely. Taking relegation on the chin should the worst happen. At least we would have been in a position to keep hold of the majority of the team and push again. Cairney and Cooper looked a class above when they played in the prem. They would have saved millions on Bullard and Sonko\Zayatte\Mouyokolo.

300k was his release clause. It happened last week or at the start of the weekend.

Have we ? I am not so sure. Forgetting the 4 goals he scored @ Birmingham(who died that day) he is average at best. No better than what we have got now. SB will have better in his plans.

If Reading are interested then he would go there and get some PL experience i would suggest ?
