The following flops are going to be taking their wages if we cannot find buyers for them. 1.Joe Cole £110,000 per week. 2.Milan Jovanovic £120,000 per week 3.Alberto Aquilani £80,000 per week 4.Paul Konchesky £50,000 per week 5.Christian Poulsen £50,000 per week Kenny Dalglish have to let them go, and if we cannot find buyers, they have to go on loan. Some clubs are likely to be scared of having them on loan because of their wages.
J.Cole is only on 90k a week. I agree we should sell them at any cost, but it's Hodgson's fault for giving them such high wages, they're going to be harder to move on now.
He has to agree to it though! I suppose we should shift the blame on to H&G for allowing the club to spend that much on wages.
The deal the serb is on is strange. His sign on fee is spread out in wages over the first year on his deal. After the first year, the wage halfs or thereabouts. I heard the sign on fee was close to £3.5m!
That is daylight robbery for Jovanovic. Free signing or not, it's ridiculous. The guy is a winger who looks like a centre back in size and stature and also happens to play like a centre back who has been randomly placed on the wing. Maybe he could play centre back...
Jesus! Even putting Cole on £90,000 a week - that's over TWENTY MILLION A YEAR on these duds/flops/indolent time wasters Get rid to whoever and for whatever we can get
Whats scary is that he had an immense strike rate in Belguim (1 goal every 2 games) I think I might move over there to see if I can get a game. I reckon I could be a handy squad player for club brugge and they will make a massive profit when the sell me to an English club because of my nationality... its win-win the only problem is, is that i'm nearly 28 so Liverpool wouldn't look to sign me
I agree with most of the above with the exception of Cole - I am willing to give him a second chance. I hear good things from the training ground about Cole, if he can just lay off the oven chips and get a bit of confidence he can show what he is capable of I reckon.
What's your source for these figures? Because you're wrong about Cole immediately and I think Jova's on less than £120,000 a week, which brings the rest into question. However, consider this: what would the headlines have been if Jova had gone ahead with his about-turn rejection of us last season after Rafa was sacked? "Liverpool fail to sign free player" "Liverpool snubbed by averageness" "Doom, gloom and rejection - how Liverpool can't even sign nobodies" Mmm, lovely.
We need balance so I agree It's no good having a team full of youngsters we also need the older pros to help them along. I don't know much about JC or his attitude but agree that he needs a chance and could be a good creative player for us. Kenny doesn't seem to rate him based on his playing time though. I got the impression that the games he had were to put him in the shop window.
I think it would be good to start Joe this year as last year, maybe he won't get sent off. Apparently a block is worse than a flying elbow these days. I think if he starts the first few games it will help his confidence, he obviously can play, he has had an unlucky start to his Liverpool career and it went from there, hasn't had what you would call a decent chance to impress, the team was in turmoil, how Cole was meant to shine in a puddle of **** is beyond me.
