Undecided on this one. Feel we do need another striker but more of a prolific goal scorer and I don't know enough about Ulloa to be sure of him but he didn't trouble the top handful of scorers this year

    Just checked, he scored 14

    Same with me, John.

Brighton fans seem to rate him, but whether he would be good enough for the Premiership is an entirely different question...

He's 27 years old, which while I'll admit isn't old by any stretch of the imagination, but the fact he's only 27 and has only made it as far as Brighton...

Other names spring to mind who have stepped up at a similar age ie Lambert and even Vardy but they have been prolific at lower levels. In Nige and Walsh we trust but £7mill seems steep

In fairness to the lad, he has scored goals wherever he has been and his ratio is pretty fair, more importantly he has scored against some top sides and in important games ... Real Madrid and Arsenal for instance ... have a look at this ... not saying he's worth £7million mind but you can see why Brighton wouldn't want to lose him ... he's definitely been a bargain for them at £2m ... Gus Poyet described him as "different class" ...

No thanks. Great finisher but not really suited to our style of play just like Chris Wood isnt.

I would very much like a Vardy type player. If were going to break the bank for a striker I would like either Danny Ings or Jordan Rhodes. Not Dejoa or Ulloa or whatever his bloody name really is

We've got one of those, his name is err.. Vardy.

If NP and Walsh reckon Ulloa can make the step up then that's fine by me. Not for anything near £7m though.

... in a way you have sort of summed up why he should be of interest to us ... i.e, from the footage I've seen I would agree he is an accomplished finisher - and that is what we are going to need) next season ... despite our very good total goals tally last season we were somewhat profligate in front of goal ... and we can't afford to be next season when we are unlikely to be able to create nearly as many chances ... as to our 'style' ... if we can supply crosses into the box - which we should be able to with our full-backs / wide players - then he would get on the end of them ... he is a real handfull in such circumstances (I watched the FA Cup game with Hull and he caused their defence all sorts of grief) he also has a very good touch ... if we could get him for £5 million I'd be keen myself ..

He wiped the floor with us, but can't really take that into account due to the fact it was general promotion hangover.

I prefer someone with blistering pace. We blew teams away with our pace and i think thats the best way to go in the prem. Fast players looking to get in behind

He was pretty ineffective in the play-offs, albeit playing in an isolated role. Dived and complained a lot, which makes me wonder if he's a Pearson type of player. His scoring record is impressive but mostly at a lower level - he did OK for in his one season in La liga with Almeria (albeit getting relegated), but he's really untested at Premier League level and at 27 he's no spring chicken. I wouldn't pay more than £3m for him, so hopefully we'll look elsewhere now.
