    In The Sun :

FULHAM'S £10.6million summer buy Bryan Ruiz admits he is struggling to cope with the pace of the Premier League.
The attacking midfielder, signed in August from Dutch club FC Twente, has yet to score for Martin Jol's side.

Costa Rica international Ruiz has started just one game and made three further sub appearances.

Ruiz, 26, said: "I've not had a comfortable time so far.

"When I played in Holland I used to have an extra second to think.

"That makes a big difference. Here I am placed under greater pressure and get less time to act on the pitch.

"You also get more one-on-one situations in Dutch football. Here you get two players breathing down your neck straight away."

    ..................................................................................

Helicopter at the ready on transfer deadline day with Toon fans being told he was a striker/winger from the top drawer and he turns out to be a midfielder who likes time on the ball!<doh>

It takes some players a while to adapt I'd point out Coloccini as an example.

I wouldn't judge him just yet. I mean Collo cost roughly the same and had a shocking first season but he adapted and now he is one of our best players.

Still think he is a class act. Saw him way before we wanted him and thought he looks pretty special. Would go as far as saying he is way too good for Fulham

Thats what people said about Colo and now look at him. He might turn out to be a flop, but I think given time he will turn into a class act

I was very relieved when we didn't sign him, had "Flop" written all over him.

We all know we don't pay 10 mio for a player. We were just messing with fulham' heads before the game against us, and it worked, didn't it?

Love the varying positions papers put players down for.

For a long while they called N'Zogbia a defender (must have pissed him off so much) but more recently I've seen him called a striker. Who needs research when you can take a shot in the dark? <laugh>
