I put more dosh on Brighton and Huddersfield to finish in the top 2 this season... the odds on Skybet have just gone out to 14/1. If the unthinkable happens and we slip into the play offs at least I have plenty of wedge to drown my sorrows...... Anyone else into insurance bets or am I just a negative bastard?
please log in to view this image They are bot even offering odds . Brighton and Leeds at 80/1 could be worth a daft fiver though.
At least it means you'll be able to afford some decent clothing for once. Might add £50 to your bet for you myself.
Ain't gonna happen - Huddersfield look knackered now and they're going off the rails, and we're playing some right cack on the run in...I know we always have a propensity to **** things up, but I can't see Huddersfield getting in the top 2. Cashed in some of my title bets a few weeks ago as safety, 100 points looks a massive stretch now, but we're proper ****e if we can't win it or at least go auto.
Its stupid bets like that got him in the situation with his clobber. He will be straight down to the local Oxfam once Leeds and Huddersfield put together a withering run. You sound like one of my mates ACS. He does this all the time. As a man who likes a bet, I have long believed you must remove emotion to win at betting. However betting against your team? Not for me. Newcastle generally are a terrible betting proposition. This season in particular.
Can never understand the logic of this type of bet. Agree with Hank about never betting against my team. Better to just not bet. But if you don't expect it to happen, why are you putting money on it happening. It just means you expect to lose some money and for why? Then again it is Chippy's thread which probably explains it all.
In one. Emotionally I couldn't give a **** if I lose as I'm betting with winnings anyway. I'd happily burn £100 right here right now if we were guaranteed promotion by me doing it. Financially I'm covered if the worst happens. It's a small and shallow positive to cling onto as insurance. I've been betting against what my heart wants to happen for years now and it's provided some comfort. I also have a big bet on the Mackems avoiding the drop (as has Hank) so I have a win/win outcome for them too.. if they go down I can take the piss out of my Dad and Bro.. if they stay up... we may play them next year AND I have a pocketful of cash.
As opposed to burning the £100 just give it to me instead and I will guarantee you that we will be promoted. As a gesture of good faith if by some miracle I'm wrong, which I don't think I will be, I'll give you the £100 back, no questions asked. Don't think I could be any fairer than that. What do you say?
