If true (and papers are rarely true but this is Man City, who dont know what they are doing) then it is beyond hilarious.

You and I have achieved as much as Sterling has in football. Absolutely nothing. Almost a million a month fot someone who is little better than average (even that's debatable).

He could be on benefits and we could be paying for him and his brood so it could be worse

Hes spent a few years on Liverpool. Hes probably got a claim in for the dole anyway.

    Probably calls himself Rudega Sterling.

I might turn out to be wrong on this but I just don't think he's all that. I really think he'll just not fulfill his potential. Perfect for City in other words.

I reckon he'll just take the money and be little better than ok.

Feel free to bookmark of course! <laugh>

Not a chance he's going to be on anything like £200k week
Since the Barca duo came, all the existing contracts of players were renegotiated with a much smaller basic with an incentivised bonus scheme
All new contracts are on similar lines
Navas was said in the media to be on £150k week when it was revealed on Citys OS as actually only £40k week

I think hes rubbish and have since he was being bigged up as tge next big thing.

Hes not better than Wright Phillips imo. SWP was more exciting when he burst onto the scene tbh.

Liverpool done a hell of a bit of business.

As a club you lie about your finances so 200k when all the erm 'bonuses' (wink wink) are added in is probably about right.

Hes turned down 100k from Liverpool. Hes on significantly more at City without question. His agents already demonstrated hes after money and lost of it.

Whats your thoughts on the transfer then?

He's an upgrade on the very poor Navas that's for sure
I think he'll be a very good signing personally,we desperately needed pace injecting into the side

Navas is stealing a living as a footballer so he'll be an improvement on that, not that I see him as a direct replacement.

He's clearly a good player. Probably will never be worth £50m but it's not beyond the realms of possibility. For a 20-year-old he does look the part.

Didn't realize you were an established starter in a PL side. Fair play <ok>

    Clearly tongue in cheek <laugh>

For United's sake you;d better hope Schneiderlin performs. After the 30 million Shaw debacle you could soon take the mantle from Liverpool as 'them mugs Southampton rip off'

Shaws been good so I am not sure what you are concerned about. Yes his fitness is an issue but when hes played, more often than not, hes done well. Stood out v Chelsea away.

Most expensive English player ever. A sad indictment of how ****e our players are.
City's most expensive player... £11m more than they paid for Aguero. Embarrassing.

I'm very happy with the transfer, he clearly wanted out and we've got a shed load of cash for him even after the QPR cut. He's a good player but has flaws in his game that I don't see improving.
My hope is that we don't blow the money as usual.

I would put Sterling on par with a player like Aaron Lennon.
Decent enough running with the ball, has plenty of pace, but can often lack an end product, not a great footballing brain.

The fact that he will be going for £50m and earning upwards of 120k per week at City (we all know it will be at least that), is quite frankly ****ing ludicrous.
I would pay £25m MAX for him and give him 70k per week, because thats all I think he is worth right now. He is young so may well get better, but right now....he is worth literally half what is being touted for him, in fee and wages.

He's better and has a decent football brain but decision making and finishing lets him down, he's a good player but not worth and will never be worth that kind of money. We've done well and with Firmino coming in and Ibe looking like a very good player we have done well.

Not really sure how you can say that tbh.
Seen both of them play dozens of times and they look identical, just quick, pacey runners that can take players on and beat defenders.
Thats the entire sum of their arsenal. Don't get me wrong, those type of players can be utilised well, but unless they bloom and add other facets to their game (like Arjen Robben or Cristiano Ronaldo, who started off as similar type players, managed to do) then they will never be anything other than a runner.
