I disagree. In my opinion we played 4-4-2 with Mackie pushing forwards when we were in possession. Anyway, I'm off out now for the rest of the year so I'll bid you and everyone else a happy new year.

Of course being up north doesn’t make any difference to your opinion, but it does effect which matches you are likely to see. However, the match which sticks most vividly in my memory was on Sky, our home league match against Brentford (and yes, we did stay until the end). The regularity with...

But that is just one player Bob. I’m surprised you want to compromise the whole of our midfield and play Freeman out of position when Wszolek looks to be growing into the role. If I recall correctly you are based up north somewhere, have you seen us when we’ve played 4-4-2 this season? I think...

Since the return of Onuoha our results are improving. In the 5 matches he’s played since returning, our record is 1 win, 2 draws and 2 defeats, whereas we lost 4 and drew 1 of the previous 5 matches. This pattern is reflected across the whole season. Ohuoha’s return has allowed us to return to...

I don't mind Didley Squat totally misinterpreting my post as I don't know him, but you! You know I'm as sharp as a razor, searingly acerbic and always ****ing right. And what's more, I though you were Statler!!!!

Indeed. The clue was in the line I highlighted in the quote about the team coming last.

Whereas last season we lost to them - there is the hint of progress you were asking for.

When have we ever beaten the teams we are expected to? Even under Warnock we lost 4-1 away to Scunthorpe who eventually finished bottom of this league. So far this season we've had more success against supposedly better teams. In our "tough" start to the season, where many expected us to be...

The takeaway menu for what I believe is a new Chinese restaurant in our area was thrust though my letterbox earlier today. I don't know if this was their aim but it had me chuckling away, it is brilliant. It is written with a verve and panache sadly lacking from this market and I will definitely...

I'm going to see this lot at the Apollo after the Wolves match next weekend. Although there are "only" a tribute band they are outstanding and occasionally hired by Dave Gilmour to play at his parties. I think that they actually do this song better than Floyd ever did.

FFP - as I understand it

A lot of clubs, including Manchester City, have suffered as a result of falling foul of the FFP rules, but none, to my recollection, have taken them to court. Perhaps it just need one to take that step? Personally I find EPPP more objectionable than FFP.

FFP - as I understand it

We are a selling club. Any serious offer will have to be considered. It is, unfortunately, the only way forwards. We will have to accept that one of our best ways of financing the whole is to develop and then sell players. Josh Bowler is a fine example. It will be frustrating at times, but no...

FFP - as I understand it

The rolling three seasons does ignore what has gone before (otherwise the big boys would be in desperate trouble) and any FFP fines are excluded from the figures as are expenses such as investment in youth development and training facilities. The debt can "only" grow at £5 million per year, the...

FFP - as I understand it

Not at all. We've been cutting our cloth accordingly. Take this summer's transfer activity which was pretty much based on a one in one out basis, but each one an upgrade. Scowen for Henry, Wheeler for Doughty, Osayi-Samuel for El Khayati. I'd guess we are paying the new boys less than the old...

FFP - as I understand it

I get the impression from reading a few posts on here that some still fail to really grasp FFP and the club’s financial position. The following is reworked from part of an article I wrote for AKUTR’s earlier this season with some additional details taken from a post on Loft For Words by Clive...
